I've read some people have had luck meeting women using KIK's group feature. (though I assume that also means the girls are a bit more trashy since the communities are concentrated).

Considering it isn't a dating app, I assume the women aren't as picky as they would be on tinder or okcupid.

Has anyone here tried it? Is it a waste of time?

My experience has been that girls you meet online who tell you they'd rather communicate over KIK and refuse to give you their phone # or IG username are typically trying to sell pictures or videos. I deleted that app and haven't looked back

KIK is full of e-thots, scammers and bottomfeeders. Most of them will just want you for their money and be overt about it. It's really pathetic how many parasitical women think going to chat rooms with screen names like "NeedMoneyNow" actually think that strangers will give them money, especially money in the triple figures. My ex was like this, she was more honest and more caring realizing I was giving money to her because I found her to be a good match for me (we wanted to elope) then when I realized she kept going in the red I realized all she just took me for granted. I even paid for half of her plane ticket to see me and when I called her out on her gold digging and frivolous money habits she said "Thanks for leading me on." KIK's a waste of time for other reasons (most women are actually men AND most women I've seen that post their KIK address online have their phones disconnected when I add them meaning something was fishy with them anyway). Fuck that messaging system and the culture it enables.

SA girls love using KIK. I actually prefer it to getting their numbers, that way I don’t come up on their suggested friends on Facebook/Instagram, therefore less chance of being stalked or something going tits up so to speak.
