Are you really about these gains?

People commonly want to get big, thus they think they want these gains. But they don't really want the gains. Why? They want the muscle, but they don't want the problems that come with it. Now you have to commit to the gym with gains to lose if you drop out. Now you have to eat food that tastes like cardboard. But if you truly commit to the gains, the gains will love you back. Just remember that you merely adopted these gains, and child court can take them away if you neglect them. These gains are a newfound responsibility, with great gains comes great responsibility. If you don't basically die every workout, then just stop wasting your time and taking up machines. Mealtime should be a time of suffering as you have your third meal of chicken and broccoli of the day. So ask yourself, am I really about these gains?

Is this the best use of your 1st post on here?

Getting more muscle mass doesn't have to be tortured by the way.

Contrary to popular belief you don't need to go to failure and kill yourself every time you go to the gym to make progress. In fact it's probably holding back your progress.

I don't even know where to start. I'll reply for the sake of other people.

Basically everything that you stated is wrong.

For regular civilians, you don't have to suffer in every meal, there are a million ways to make dieting easier and even pleasurable. Flexible dieting, fasting, carb cycling, high protein/high fat diets. A million alternatives to suit anyone's need. Maybe you just want to suffer, or maybe you're just not good at cooking.

Training? Same. Of course you need to push a little beyond your limit, but you shouldn't "basically die every workout".

Even for bodybuilding pros there's more latitude than you are accounting for.

Also, generally speaking the hardest part of getting a good physique is not keeping gains, it's obtaining them in the first place. Disregarding extreme levels of leanness, if you manage to keep in good shape for long enough, your body will believe that to be your natural weight and will facilitate the maintenance.

Weak thread, weak post, and my RVF radar tells me that you're probably an old member trolling.

Let’s put this shitty thread to awesome use

How far in terms of intensity should I go in compound lifts? 80%? 70%? (With 100% being failure)

Depends what the program calls for.

Besides going for a 1RM, I never purposely push to failure on a lift (though I have failed during normal workouts just due to exhaustion/low work capacity that particular day).

I'd like to up the intensity on my conditioning though. Less rest times, more explosiveness, etc. I always get a good workout in, but I always leave wishing I left it all out on the gym floor. I'm also realistic in understanding that is not sustainable and you should be kicking your ass every day fo the week or you will burn out, or even injure yourself.

It's a give and take.

Mmmm, chicken and broccolli! Someone else who shares my love for this awesome combo. Add garlic and a dash of soy sauce. Nice.

I'm about gains, but not about OP being a faggot.

I also don't like word salad.
