Songs by females hat define the female imagina

I thought I'd start a thread that can act as a companion to the songs about game thread.

In this case, it will be songs by females that reveal, in the end, their deepest contradictions and self-deceptions, their desire for the higher status male, and their uncontrollable hurricane of emotions.

Next up...Got a Call, by Land of Talk.

Here is Got a Call from Land of Talk. Front woman is Elizabeth Powell.
Album version, then live version. Girl dumped by guy. Claims that she "loved" him. Her ideal relationship is just a dream.

Got a call
the one i've been waiting for
in the middle of the night
Said I know what you do and know its the same to you
can't keep down the girl who loves music

Darkness dares to the dialtone
as I sing myself to sleep
the most beauty I've seen
lives in a dream
where we laugh and want to live for the little things

Not even if I could get you back, I don't try
You weren't all that good, but I loved you like you were mine
Is it the only thing, I keep it like a secret
though it always rains, a billion hearts stop bleeding
Alone and no one knows how to feel
and I party all the time
Yeah I know how to kill, but I hate how it feels
that everyones in love with someone else

And even if I could get you back, I don't try
You weren't all that good, but I loved you like you were mine
Is it the only thing, I keep it like a secret
though it always rains, a billion hearts stop bleeding

Rude Boy Lyrics

Come on rude boy, boy
Can you get it up
Come here rude boy, boy
Is you big enough
Take it, take it
Baby, baby
Take it, take it
Love me, love me

Come here rude boy, boy
Can you get it up
Come here rude boy, boy
Is you big enough
Take it, take it
Baby, baby
Take it, take it
Love me, love me

Tonight
I'mma let you be the captain
Tonight
I'mma let you do your thing, yeah
Tonight
I'mma let you be a rider
Giddy up
Giddy up
Giddy up, babe

Tonight
I'mma let it be fire
Tonight
I'mma let you take me higher
Tonight
Baby we can get it on, yeah
we can get it on, yeah

Do you like it boy
I wa-wa-want
What you wa-wa-want
Give it to me baby
Like boom, boom, boom
What I wa-wa-want
Is what you wa-wa-want
Na, na-aaaah

etc.

Khia - My neck my back

This is probably the dirtiest song I've ever heard sung by a woman.

ET by Katy Perry describes what turns her on (or at least turns on the character she's playing in the song / video) through an space / alien abduction theme.

(I can't post links yet but you can find it on youtube if you haven't heard it like 1000 times on the radio already...)

- dominant man, submissive and compliant woman - "wanna be a victim, ready for abduction"
- he's "different", mysterious, powerful
- hard to figure out - "could you be an angel, could you be the devil?"
- blatant sexual metaphors - "Infect me with your love and / Fill me with your poison"

(Actually, sounds a lot like Twilight, which might explain why women go nuts for those books / movies.)

I've never heard a song that embodies the nature of black American female fascination with "edgy" men (thugs/gangstas/whatever you wanna call them) and general bad boy worship more vividly than this one.

It is like their national anthem.

Know your enemy and know yourself, find naught in fear for 100 battles. Know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory. Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.
