Baking Soda: reduce fatigue during HIIT

Baking Soda: reduce fatigue during HIIT

I recently started doing p90x. The work out is stupid intense, more so than any system i've tried before.

My biggest problem is acidosis. I've been known to do HIIT and after about 30 minutes of training run to the bathroom to vomit.

I have a container that has capsules of sodium bicarbonate. I decided why the hell not. I took 3 capsules with water.

I continued to drink massive amounts of water given that huge amount of salt I just consumed but wow! The performance change was immediate.

Right now, my legs have a burn but not nearly as bad as they were a week ago. I've been able to improve my performance on almost all of the moves.

It's a strange feeling working out without the burn. Your muscles get exhausted and feel like spaghetti noodles, but without that shearing pain that radiates through your body. Also, best part: no sick stomach!

The capsules I use to easily consume the baking soda is this product: https://www.risingpharma.com/our-product...te-Tablets

This can be found on Amazon. Enjoy!

I tried doing this before after reading that olympic athletes do it. It works however if your drinking the powder straight with water it taste like shit.

I don't know anything about P90X or much about HIIT but I would imagine exercising to the point of throwing up is bad. Personally I would cut back.

Can you just straight up use the baking soda from the store?

You can, but it tastes disgusting. The tablets are easier to stomach.

@Catalyst, for whatever reason my tolerance for this is low. This has been a failing of mine for a long time.

Yup. A trick would be to put the powder in your mouth and just gulp some water down. Mixing it with water before takes longer to drink.
