I always liked Adam Lyons. He was a self confessed geek who spent all his days painting his miniature action figures to perfection, one day realized he didn't have a girlfriend, and put that same focused geek obsessiveness to work getting a girlfriend. He has been around forever, and if memory serves, he was in that wave of PUAs that showed up right after "The Game" was published. His real contribution was that he studied psychology and persuasion from reputable sources and tried to apply it to pickup, so he took some of the concepts introduced to the public by guys like Robert Cialdini, and figured out ways to apply them to getting girls.
I think he was the first one talking about social proof, for instance, and he would show up at clubs with a bunch of girls to make it easier to game new women. There was a documentary in the UK years back called, I believe, "The Rules of the Game," in which he figured prominently, and he was all gaga about a Texas girl who was a former cheerleader, and even so, in the documentary, he was skyping with her, and playfully ordering her around (Go get your dog so I can say hi to it.) and then turning to the camera and saying, that was compliance, you have to make sure they do what you tell them.
This was in the mid 2000's, so, he has been around a while and he seemed pretty solid for one of the early guys to get it going and making a living at this. He ended up marrying the Texas girl:
Again, if my memory is correct, they got divorced because he wasn't willing to settle down with one chick, and she wasn't going for that. I liked him because he certainly was a
man with a plan type of guy, and he was always doing pickup experiments and showing them on Youtube, trying out different ways of using psychological techniques for getting women.
I remember once he even made his first wife disguise herself as a man and walk around to see what it was like. She was astonished that guys wanted to fight her and asked what she was staring at. Pretty funny. The point is, he was creative, and good at coming up with things to keep his wife busy, and always up to something in the kind of way that that would keep a woman's sense of curiosity and suspense piqued.
Also, he was pretty normal looking and positive, kind of a bridge between the early outlandish PUAs, and the more normal guys using psychology to their advantage.
I haven't watched his videos in years, and everyone is right that he is going against a lot of common sense taking on a feminazi looking woman and her kid. At the same time, I remember him as very intelligent, socially adept, and pretty good at getting what he wanted, so I wouldn't count him out. If anyone can make something like this work it is him. Resourceful dude, been at it for years. Probably not easily played.
