I am mid 30s American black guy born and raised in NYC.

Ive mostly dated/been with white European girls and never really had anything significant with a girl outside of that.

It is NOT very international at all outside of Erasmus which I think is a MAJOR MAJOR drawback of living here.

Its fairly easy to get into life here as it somewhat resembles life in the US with Mcdonalds, Burger King, KFC, some shopping malls, ZARA, Tommy Hilfiger, Footlocker, One or two burrito places, Apple store... We dont have EVERYTHING here but you get the drift.

TV is German. Movies in the nice movie theathers are in German. 90% of business has to be done in German. If it involves any kind of government employee you can be pretty sure its Hans or Frieda sitting at the desk and he/she will not make an effort to try and speak English with you because you live in Germany and therefore you should learn German.

The expat/foreign community sucks here since Germany usually has lots of openings and easy VISAS for native english speakers who are Engineers/IT specialists. These kind of guys in generally are betas or nerds and you will have problems meeting and connecting with fellow American men.

The uneducated people regardless of age will have problems with English.

The food here in the beginning is fine but over the long term starts to bother you. Its a matter of opinion but I think the food in the US is leaps and bounds better than here. If any of you guys have restaurant experience and want to come to Germany and open a REAL American restaurant I think you could make a SERIOUS KILLING.

They do things the German way and they will think their way is the best way no matter what you tell them. Even if things are done wrong, better or could be done another way they are pretty inflexible when it comes to this kind of thing. There are programmed behaviors here that people do and have no idea why they do them.. even if it makes little sense.

Education is everything here and people will study until the end of time since it is subsidized by the state. It doesnt matter if you need the additional education or not.. The more certificates you have MUST mean that you are more qualified than the next guy.. which is ridiculous.

Ultimately I am mostly likely going to end up leaving the country for England or another country.

Women are fans of American culture and alot of American things are copied. You will see girls walking around here in Baseball caps and NFL jerseys and have ZERO fucking idea of anyone on the team or anything. Its just a fashion thing. Major copycat culture here in some aspects which can make it easier to game.
(...)
I think it will vary per city but if you don't LOVE white chicks/white people I'm not sure Germany is gonna be the best place for you. There is no black American culture outside of Kaiserslautern where the Armed Forces bases are. So forget about that beef patty or soul food or any of that stuff. You will be lucky to get a really good hip hop party.
(...)
Nightclubs - There is a problem here with racism and it doesnt come from the doormen. it comes from the owners inside the clubs. If its not a hip hop or black club odds are you could have a problem to get in. They WILL discriminate against Arabs, Turks, Blacks and anyone who doesnt "look German".

So, in a nutshell:
You went to live in a foreign country on another continent. You didn't go there because of the vast cultural heritage, but because of puss. That special kind of puss you prefer.
Surprisingly, not everyone speaks English on your level, alarmingly the uneducated are struggling with it. Luckily, international, no: U.S. American food chains such as Burger King or KFC keep you from starving, as the local food is "bothering you".
On it goes: television, even cinemas are in the local language! They also don't live the 24/7 lifestyle of NYC, but dare to close their shops on one day per week. Government employees speak the local language, and maybe yours, but surely not fluently. Yes, there are apperantly some girls who wear some U.S. sports related items, but, as you say, they have no FUCKING idea (fuck!!) who the Nicks are.
Now, looking at the other people who came here from other countries or even continents, they are nerds (as they are expert in some STEM this or other). They are educated!! So are the Germans, with their "free" unis and whatnot.
Now, to add insult to injury, you noticed that it is almost impossible to meet fellow followers of that very specific ethnic subculture that you apparently are a part of.
Eventually you realised that you are running out of steam, and announce to decamp to England.
Goodbye! Safe travels![/quote]
You're criticizing someone on THIS forum for checking their possible "poosy paradise"?
People like what they like, hard to criticize them for it or for educating other that might have similar tastes.
He put in the effort to learn a very tough language, drop some some knowledge and decided to check out another country. No shame in his game.
