What are your favorite guns? I became partial to the HK roller lock design. Decided to buy a semiauto MP5 and a PTR 91 rifle.

HK G3 mags are $3 a piece, at the moment. So, I made a small stockpile of magazines and ammo.

Who knows what is going to happen, in regards to legal gun ownership in this country.

Doesn't look too good.

I just got a CZ Scorpion Evo 3 pistol. If you put a stock on it it's comparable to the MP5 while being cheaper. The bolt will also hold open on the Scorpion when it's out of rounds unlike the MP5.

Of course if you put a stock on it you're in SBR territory. You can get one of those braces though and not shoulder it and it's still a pistol according to the ATF.

The scorpion is 9mm but CZ also make a 5.56 pistol that can be converted to an SBR as well.

Yarbles:

I am a CZ fan. I used to have a CZ75 Compact. But I sold it along time ago, when I needed $$.

Congrats on the Scorpion. I have seen them on youtube. It looks interesting.

Currently my fave is a 20in AR-15 set up like a USMC M-16A4 with a Knights
Armament M5 RAS and a Trijicon TA31RCO.
And, though not as "practical" my Ohio Ordnance 1918A3 BAR is still pretty cool and a riot to do 20 rnd 30-06 mag dumps with.

I don't own any guns because they are scary and bad and the police will protect me. But if I did, my favorites would be:

Handgun: GLOCK 19 with Trijicon sights, Streamlight TLR1, 33 round magazine. Ammo: Speer Gold Dot 124 gr. +P JHP.

Rifle: Bravo Company AR15 with 14.5" lightweight barrel, KMR rail, Aimpoint T1, Magpul BUIS. Ammo: XM193.

Those are cool...heavy but cool. I have a fondness for WWII era guns.

Also a ZC fan here. I'm in Europe now but whenever I'm in the U.S. I grab my trusted P-01 which is patiently waiting in storage and head for the range.

Had to switch out the trigger however as it's got a really stiff first trigger pull when you just bought it. Word has it that it's been designed to be used with gloves, due to the Czech Republic being a cold country. In any case - once you get a lighter trigger (or break it in after a few months) it's a dream to enjoy. Super accurate and one of the best 9mm you can own.

But compared with the gear some of you guys own I feel like a total piker ...

Is that just an updated CZ75?

More or less, yeah. The P-01 has an aluminum alloy frame, there are a few other small differences. They use the same magazines, as I understand it.

I like lots of guns but I don't have any favorites. After owning, using, and then selling loads of different guns, they're mostly just tools to me now. I carry a Glock 19, so that gets most of my attention.

My favorite is what is cheapest to shoot.
I love 22's, been trying to find a cheap used kadet adapter for my cz75 (pre-b, but it should work). My next favorite is 7.62x54r, it's cheaper to shoot that than 556 (20¢/rnd vs 30¢/rnd, best prices I found so far locally). Keeps my mosins, svt, and fpk fed economically. If I can find a cheap 22 adapter for my ar, then I'll bump that up the list.

I hate some of my guns though, only due to price/rnd, like my t99 arisakas, back in the day I bought them because they were dirt cheap, and the ammo wasn't too bad, now it's $4/rnd, and that's on a good deal. Even my 30-06's, the best deal I could get was 50¢/rnd, and that was for old mixed ammo, and had to haggle for a while to get that price.

Hey if anyone has a glock, try out these sights, they are great:

Huge fan of everything glock, specially mid size like Glock 19 or 23.

For rifles I stick with the AR platform my favorites being BCM Recce and Colt Le6920. I have several rifles in different calibers for hunting and plinking. Mega arms is about to release what they call SF MATEN (small frame maten in 308) weighting just 7.5lbs which is super light for a .308 ar style rifle. So I'm just waiting with the money burning a hole in my pocket.

Shotguns I only use for hunting. I have a favorite that I use use for Dove, duck, geese, and everything that flies, my trusted Benelli SBEII.

Has anyone seen the new Ruger 10/22 Takedown Lite? It has a cool-looking aluminum barrel sleeve or shroud which makes it appear kind of like an old Beretta Model 38 SMG.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

It has to be the MG-42, you can't beat 1,200 -1,500 rounds per minute.

I'm a big fan of Beretta's my favorite is my Beretta PX4 Compact, somewhat bulky for a conceal carry option but love the gun, has the rotating barrel and been very reliable. Also a big fan of Ruger's especially for the price, I think it's probably one of the best bang for your bucks out there. I've been wanting to get a hammerless revolver for a while, probably wind up going with a S&W 642.

These .22LR bolt actions are addicting man

http://www.big5sportinggoods.com/store/d.../A-5435250

Only $350 - plus ammo, which can be dirt cheap.

Throw in subsonic rounds and a can (suppressor) and they're as quiet as a BB gun.

Now I don't own a can, but I've shot with one on it, lots of fun.

AR Platforms obviously are my go to, been having upper receiver issues as of late, it might be time to upgrade to a piston driven system.

I been thinking of doing a piston drop in kit for my ar, but I'm wondering about the timing being changed, gas traveling through tube to impinging bolt carrier vs gas impinging piston after port. Wouldn't the pressure still be too high to extract the shell that early?

From what I read on AR forums - alot of guys say don't do the conversion kit, just invest the a new piston upper.

ARs are already piston guns, technically speaking. The various piston conversions and uppers and so on just add weight and complexity, and reduce the precision of the system. Worse than snake oil, IMO.

That said, a properly engineered piston conversion shouldn't have any issues with early unlocking.

^^ the only time I've seen the piston ar come in handy is with a silencer, other than that it's just extra added weight. Keep your ar lubed and it will work amazing, you don't need fancy oil either, plain ole engine oil is all you need.

My carry pistol is a simple Glock 17. RIP rounds in the magazine.

In the distant future, I'll probably invest in a .40 compact, probably Smith & Wesson or Sig Sauer.

Co-signed on the F2000. The legal version is up there with the guns I want to own. God Bless the South. Always had a soft spot for Bulpups or Austrian weaponry in general.

The .44 Magnum has been the stuff of my wet dreams for years.

As well as the one the only Desert Eagle.

For shotguns the Remingston 870 is always a classic. Love it to death.

[Image: Mosin-Nagant_M1891_-_Ryssland_-_AM.032971.jpg]

And for a good old classic rifle. The Mosin Nagant is definitely up there, and it'll only run you about $250 tops.

I got my mosin nagant for $80 when I was 16 years old.

The Glock 17 is my all time favorite gun. I don't need a picture of that.

Close runner ups are

The Stoeger Coach Gun 12 gauge. This would be a shotgun I would take camping to take care of anything less than bear. If I had to deal with bears, it would be a "tracking gun" with a lever action in no less than .44 magnum.

The Stoeger Coach gun weighs in at 6 lbs and you can break it in two, so it'll fit in a backpack without too much trouble.

The G2 Contender single shot break action pistol with any flavor of caliber that you choose. The barrel can be switched out in a few seconds to any kind of caliber. This is THE pistol for long range, accurate pistol shooters. Many folks say that it's the most accurate gun you'll ever fire for certain calibers. I want one with .22, .223, .308 and 12 gauge barrels.

The Taurus 608 .357 Magnum with a 4 inch ported barrel (stainless steel) would be an awesome bedpost revolver. It holds eight shots and if you run out of ammo, you can always beat your assailant to death. It weighs 3.5 pounds.

This is the Ruger Sp101. It holds five shots in .357, but it is a very, very solid gun and it can shoot .357 all day long. Most guns in this size can not and will not do that. This would be my ideal conceal and carry for certain situations.

The DP-12 is a double barreled pump action bullpup shotgun. This would be my home defense shotgun if I ever got the money for it. It holds 16 rounds of 12 gauge, which should be enough to fuck up anything that comes to your door. See, I don't much care for .223 for home defense.
