NTP I know you're out there, probably sailing the Caribbean with a sweet girl or three and a bottle of rum. Heading to your villa on the coast of South America.

Your posts in the Sailing thread really inspired me. I had never been sailing and it was the furthest thing from my mind when I would think of "Where do I want to go? What do I want to do next?"

After reading all of your posts, and others in the thread I started off on my journey of learning how to sail. Today I was able to rig up and take my first solo trip on a boat. Granted it's a little boat, and it's only on a river, but hey! It's a good start and it was a lot of fun.

I'll be doing this every day honing my skills so I can finally buy my own and of course, it will be a lot bigger and nicer.

Here's me and my little boat on the river today. Notice the rays of sun coming down from the sky in the distance. Your spirit guiding the way. Haha...ok that's a little too sappy, but you get the sentiment.

The winds were very fair on my first voyage, much fairer than you've been treated these past few days. This post was going to have some very biting content towards the mob who threw you up on the cross, tore you down from it and ravaged through every part of your body with glee.

But then I looked at my pictures after I uploaded them and the need for justice disappeared and was replaced with gratefulness you happened to find the forum, have an interest in sailing, and I happened to read it.

Actually, I'd probably re-title the thread as a sailing thread. Seeing as I called out AAJ for being a drama-queen, this thread seems not that far off unless you turn it into a thread about your new love of sailing and document your progress.

I don't even know. It's just has one sail and a rudder. It's a rental from the boathouse on the river. You can see the other ones off in the distance. Only costs a few hundred bucks for a whole year of sailing. Lessons included! These are teeny tiny boats of course, but they are great for learning. You have to rig the sail yourself so you learn that aspect as well.
