Stockholm Sweden – As of October 2015

Bars:

Ostermalm/Stureplan

The "5th Avenue" of Stockholm.

Café Opera – I peeked inside here on Friday around 9 pm, but on Friday’s it’s a 40+ year old event here in the evening. I talked to a few of the older women here. They told me after 11 pm it’s a younger crowd that comes in, but I didn’t go back.

Berns – I waited in line here on Friday just before 10 pm. Finally, around 10 pm the line starts moving, but turns out they had some private event here. I was chatting with two other guys in line, and I followed them to Soap Bar instead. So, I never went into Berns.

Soap Bar – A bar, lounge and club in one, with no cover, which is a huge appeal. Attracts a lot of young people, and there is some decent talent. A mix of foreigners and locals here. I met girls from all over the world here. It’s small so it gets crowded so def be here early so you don’t have to wait in line. I got here around 10 pm. I approached every set in the place. You don’t have to be super dressy to be here. My longest set at any bar was here, with a Swedish girl that lasted maybe 45 minutes, we danced together a bunch, but at some point she lost interest.

Spy Bar and other clubs in Ostermalm – A bunch of places here, and three of these clubs are open from 3 am to 5 am, but every single one has an expensive $22 cover. I decided against going in, and gamed women on the area outside the bars from 3 am to 4:30 am, with little success. At 4:30 am I got in to one (can’t remember the name) without paying a cover, but there were almost no girls at this point in the night. Ask the locals which bar has the most people right now, and maybe take a chance and pay the entrance fee.

Sodermalm

Kind of like Brooklyn, if Brooklyn only had 3 good bars. Hipster area of Stockholm, much chiller than Ostermalm.

Marie Laveau – Recommended. During the week, cocktail bar. On Thursday, I flirted with some cute cougars. Friday and Saturday night are busy here. There’s a bar upstairs, and a club downstairs, tons of people, talent is mixed. This is the busiest venue. On Saturday here, I was propositioned to a threesome.

Carmen – When I asked a cute Swedish girl on the street what bar she recommends she said this one. It’s a divey sports bar, with lots of loud bros and dudes but there might be an occasional table of girls or a mixed set worth approaching.

Ugglan Bar – I insta-dated a girl my first night in Stockholm, who was sitting behind me at a restaurant and she recommended this place. We went. It’s a cool underground spot in Sodermalm. Hipster bar. With a ping pong table and shuffleboard. I’m not sure their hours because it was surprisingly busy on a Tuesday when I went there on an insta-date, but when I went back on a Thursday night it appeared like they were closed. I didn’t approach here on account of being on a date.

Hotellbarren – This place is right next to Medborgarplatsen subway and open until 3 am. I went on a Thursday. I was flirting with two nurses here, the less attractive one was outgoing but prudish and the extremely attractive one was not outgoing at all. It was a frustrating set to say the least. This could be worth checking out later in the night. Another dive bar is Kelly’s down the street. Almost no women there when I went.

Pet Sounds Bar – Hipster bar with a music venue in the basement, which I didn’t go to. I went here on a Wednesday and opened two or three sets, there was some decent talent. I came back on a Thursday, and no sets were worth pursuing.

Non-bar venues:

During the daytime/early evening, I would hang out at Tully’s Coffee in Sodermalm pretend to read, or write in my journal, and open girls who were studying here. It’s centrally located and there’s a bunch of tables, so it’s worth waiting here if you have some time to kill.

I would also walk around Mariatorget, and in Sodermalm near Carmen Bar around 7 or 8 pm to make street approaches with the intent to insta-date.

And went to Chutneys, a vegetarian restaurant in Sodermalm on my first night in Stockholm. I waited until I finished eating (I was really hungry) and then opened the set behind me. The girls were ballet dancers at the Royal Swedish ballet. Chatted for ten minutes, ended up getting one of them on an insta-date to a bar nearby.

Tradgarden late-night deep house underground club, under the bridge – I went here at 3:30 am on Saturday night, as a last hope. There was some talent here, but again, sets here are like pulling teeth. One girl I met on the rooftop here was friendly, when I asked her to dance, her two guy friends were encouraging her to go, but she had a change of heart last second and ended up going with her friends to a different part of the club.

I had a great Scandinavian style sandwich at Kalf & Hansen, a small café in Mariatorget.

I also crashed a party that was happening at a hair salon in Sodermalm. Just happened to be walking by on a Thursday, there was a one year anniversary party. There was champagne and a burlesque show and a bunch of women here, but again, the sets I opened here didn’t end up moving forward.

One place I didn’t go out is Gamla Stan, the Old Town. I thought it was just for tourists, but I met some cool locals at Sjatte Tunnan in the afternoon here on my last day in Stockholm who said that they prefer to go out in Gamla Stan. It might be worth a shot if you’re here on two weekends.

Lodging/Other:

If you can stay in Sodermalm, do it. I couldn’t find an AirBnB two weeks before my trip for under $60 a night anywhere in Sodermalm. So I stayed two stops south of Sodermalm, which was fine. A short taxi ride would work, had I been able to pull, but I didn’t. The metro in Stockholm runs 24 hours on Friday and Saturday so it’s easy to get anywhere in the city at night. Game on the platforms too. A girl waiting on a busy platform at Ostermalm T-bana at 1:30 am on Friday, was intrigued by me after I made a cold open. I asked her to come out with me, but she said she couldn’t, so we exchanged numbers, but were unable to meet up again. If you’re here for more than a few days, get a Swedish SIM. Very few girls seem to use What’s App.

I used 20Nation’s approach suggestions from his book, “The Perfect Conversation” and opened on the street, and in coffee shops and restaurants with, “Excuse me, do you know a good bar around here?” Then I chatted for a bit, told them they looked like an actress, but I couldn’t remember her name. If still friendly, I told them I’m going to get a drink if they wanted to join me. It worked out okay.

For some reason, people who live in Stockholm don’t like living in Stockholm. They want to move to London or NYC. I’ve never been to a place where locals dislike their city more than Stockholm. This might be some benefit to you as a foreigner, as people will be friendly to you because you are not Swedish. But, that doesn’t mean they’ll sleep with you. Americans are not gods here. I was under that impression from reading other posts on this forum and on Roosh’s blog that Swedes are obsessed with Americans. This might be true in other parts of Sweden, but not Stockholm. Nobody cared that I was American.

Tourist sites:

The Vasa museum was pretty cool. it’s probably Stockholm’s most well known tourist attraction. It’s a large wooden ship that sunk and was recovered. I’m stupid there was a Swiss girl here I met on the English language tour who was friendly, I should have toured the museum with her a bit and then tried to insta-date her.

The Photography Museum. This was interesting although less so, I’d never been to a museum dedicated to photography. There was a great exhibit of Martin Schoeller’s close-up portraits of famous individuals.

Those were the only two touristy things I did.

Additional thoughts:

What I wish I had done more was DAY APPROACH any woman who smiled at me. Like literally, turn around tap her on the shoulder and say, “Hey, I saw you walking by, and I wanted to tell you that in the last ten minutes, you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve seen in Stockholm.” A few times over the week, I had a woman smile at me when she walked by, but I didn’t act on it.

Also, I think I should have done more approaches in Sodermalm, near any of the subway stations after the workday.

Mostly though, I stuck to night game. I thought back to my experience in Mexico. There, I made lots of day approaches, and got an insta-date almost every day, but none of those insta-dates led to bangs. And even in those insta-date girls would be really shy about kissing.

So I figured my best bet in Stockholm was night game, girls drinking in bars, talking, isolating, waiting and getting them back to my place. Going in with energy, walking around the room opening sets with “What’s up Sweden?” or “Cheers” or any of Roosh's Bang openers to show you’re a social guy.

My numbers—I made approximately 70 approaches.
Tuesday: 3 approaches, Wednesday: 10 approaches, Thursday: 15 approaches, Friday: 25 approaches, Saturday: 20 approaches. On Friday and Saturday it was a full time job, I’d be out approaching from 6 pm in the evening until 4 am. I’d sleep until noon or 1 pm the next day.

Overall, Sweden has great talent, and it’s possible you get lucky, but it’s difficult if you don’t consider yourself an advanced gamer. However, I don’t think it’s any more difficult than where I live in the States. Girls are hard to warm-up, hard to escalate with, and harder to pull. I was there for five days.

For a short-term trip, my question to you is this—can you get laid in the U.S. if you went out five nights in a row without your cell phone? If the answer is no, you’re probably not going to get laid in Stockholm.

What countries in Europe you've been to, are easier for game than Sweden? Where girls are easier to warm-up, easier to escalate with, and easier to pull? In other words, where you don't need to be an advanced gamer to score there?

Good post, you summed it up really well.

Problem with Stockholm is, erect cocks from all over the world come there to get laid so the competition is very fierce. I estimate that on Fridays and Saturdays, around 1,000 dicks from surrounding towns (Uppsala, Norrköping, Södertälje..) come to Stockholm for the sole purpose of getting lucky.

Plus unlike FSU where the local dudes are desperate, Scandinavian dudes actually have great game (You probably have seen this first hand)

Stockholm is a tough nut to crack. Much easier to just drive to Uppsala (45 miles) and attack the campus crowd.

Except they won't let you into nightlife venues in Uppsala without a student ID. For day game however, it does have superior talent. By a wide margin.

Well written report OP. Look forward to reading your future efforts.
