What kind of jackets do y'all wear during winter? I'm shopping early for a light jacket that I can wear with everything. It doesn't get to cold down here so a light one is more than enough.

I almost always go with leather jackets. Look for a conservative piece, and spend extra for quality. Take care of it and it'll last for years. I'll flare my style, but always keep my outerwear classy. It can be worn season after season. A lightweight peacoat is another option.

Depends on how cold it gets where you are.

For cold climates I like solidly padded bomber jackets. Canada Goose do some cool ones: http://www.canada-goose.com/products/ - they look good and will keep you warm.

Richlu also does some good ones, really rugged and warm: http://www.amazon.com/Tough-Hooded-Bombe...B000Y170M6

Can you wear leather jackets with tennis shoes? I like how they look but I'm not sure it'll work with ALL my clothes. Button ups, v necks, jeans, slacks...

The James Dean red jacket is made by a company called Baracuta G9. You can still find them around and I think they're like $100 US dollars.

They also made the Harrington jacket that Frank Sinatra and Steve McQueen used to wear.

I can't post links yet but you can find their website here. Oh, and they're having a sale right now.

Bumping this thread after Roosh started his boots thread.

I'm on the look-out for a wardrobe update, was thinking of getting something classic and all-purpose. I don't have much cash for clothes, so whatever I get should last me all winter. The weather here is pretty dreary during the winter - same temperatures as Philadelphia/Delaware.

A year from now you'll wish you started today

I used to rock an oilskin duster jacket. It's basically a trench coat. I always got tons of attention while wearing it, some of it was positive.

I wouldn't recommend wearing one unless your shoulders are much broader than your waist, and the coat itself is fitted well. Otherwise you look like a fat guy wearing a bedsheet.

get a belstaff roadmaster if you can spend $600. I got one on sale for about $300 on mrporter, which I returned because it was really similar to another jacket I had.

As for me personally, I have several blazer/jackets from Apolis in the navy, brick and that french linen jacket, I love them all..but not good for colder climates. http://store.apolisglobal.com/jackets/

I'll probably buy one jacket this fall/winter and it'll be a Golden Bear from Unionmade, still have to decide what to get, i'll go into the store. http://www.unionmadegoods.com/golden_bear_Mens.html

I typically roll with layers in the winter. I am particularly partial to lettermen jackets and military type jackets as well. Usually a hoodie with a long sleeve shirt and a hat does the trick even though it gets pretty cold here in Michigan.

I have a simple black windbreaker that I always wear I also have a great jacket that I made myself if I ever venture into the metal/punk scene. What would you guys recommend for rainier climates? I only ever see dudes wearing north face shit or peacoats (they always wear baggy jeans, sneakers and a backwards baseball cap it looks whack).

Very hard to find and the quality is WAY beyond typical Banana stuff. One on ebay right now for $599 tho.

I recently bought this French Connection jacket from Sears. They're having a 50% off sale on all men's clothing right now.

I'm trying to recreate this outfit I saw on http://www.mrporter.com but for less $. Mr Porter has awesome clothing and style but it is outrageously expensive.

I have a Nautica jacket that's similar to this one except there's a wool collar and it's dark black. This guy is making it look lame with the shirt tucked in lol. It looks good, just basic and simple.

I like this one that Rio recommended a while back.

I was thinking about getting a peacoat similar to these but I dont know. I just want something that looks sophisticated but will look good with t shirts, tennis shoes, dress shoes, button ups, etc. Pretty much with everything. I think Rio's jacket is my best bet. Opinions?
