She sees herself as ambitious and assertive. She's unafraid of asking teachers tough questions, and taking up leadership roles. But these efforts landed her a reputation of being too forthright – a description more commonly attributed to female, rather than male students.
It's a "subtle sort of sexism" that strong female teenagers routinely endure in the classroom, the Fitzroy High School student says. It's a type of sexism that is easy to try to justify, or disregard.

Yes but we don't know what they're teaching the kids yet. It's all very pithy.

"Forthright?" Is that what they're calling precocious little shits at school these days?

Back in my day -- late 80s, early 90s -- males who asked 'tough questions' of teachers were called "smartarses". And dealt with as such. Girls who asked 'tough questions' were dealt with gently.

And 'leadership roles'? In fucking school? What the fuck 'leadership role' is there in high school other than getting to say "And now Principal Proudcock will address the school about the shitty upcoming Blue Light Disco" at the weekly assembly, for fuck's sake?

Blokes who went into 'leadership roles' in school were generally known as "crawlers", "brown noses", or "Too big for their fucking boots."

When people call you bossy, bitchy, smartarse, crawler, brown nose, etc, etc, it's not because of your gender, it's because you're one of those pretentious prats who thinks the fact you sat up the front of the class is going to serve you well on your application for university.

That said--

Also, one encouraging excerpt from the article:

Quote:Quote:

The students were angry that good friends were falling victim to eating disorders; that white middle class men dominated their reading lists; that objectifying images of girls they knew were circulating on Facebook; and thatthey were being branded "feminazis" on social media.

The collective also faced opposition in the playground, Stella says. Male students argued that they should form a "men's rights collective" to protect themselves against the feminists.

Encouraging, as said, since historically these boys would've simply rolled over and taken it. My guess is that these guys already got a good dose of ugly feminism online, most likely over Gamergate.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought high school "leadership roles" were complete horseshit.

Also the student in question was a 16 year old feminist. We had a word for political youth back then. Losers.

Ours was 'Teacher'. Seemingly every twenty-something Radicalised Hippie or Bitter Lesbian in Australia was given access to shape the minds of 70's children.

I spend my final year of primary school basically doing nothing. The Hippies had decided that the high performing children and the low performing children shouldn't segregated because it was 'unfair' for good students to excel and poor students to lag behind. As such, we were mixed in together, and, therefore, the class could only move at the speed of the slowest pupil.

After a few unsuccessful weeks of this, they came up with a 'Contract' idea. At the start of the week, we'd come in and decide the work we were going to do for the week from the list, write it out on a timetable, and then sign a contract promising to do the work. As you completed each task, the teacher would sign off on it. You weren't punished for not doing it. This was supposed to teach 12-year-olds, (I was 11), motivation and responsibility.

As such, my week's work was done by Monday Lunch. They really didn't expect much from you. The rest of the week I'd either be reading library books or writing, because there was nothing else to do. I've never been so unstimulated in my life.

Things were that idiotic that the teacher started sending me down to the local shop unsupervised - a 10 minute walk each way - to buy her Winnie Reds (cigarettes) during class.

Eventually the teacher used to let me wander down to the music hall by myself, as long as I came back before final bell, which is how I taught myself to play piano.

Welcome to Australian Government Education in the 70's. The Marxists took over and no-one cared. They're thoroughly-entrenched by now, so this is exactly what I'd expect.

I kind of wonder what I might have achieved had anyone recognised how intelligent I was and encouraged it.

This is not challanging anything. This is just being a SJW feminist nutjob.

Since everything is sexist according to them, then I doubt that you conduct any meaningful lessons aside from gender and feminism studies:

And I am sure even that is sexist.

A sample of the madness:

Quote:Quote:

O'Keeffe says a growing number of boys (who were allowed to start a collective if they wished) support the collective, and want to join the class, which has reached its maximum intake.
She says the course is being taught at a critical time in a male student's life, with a recent National Community Attitudes towards Violence Against Women Survey showing younger men, particularly those aged between 16-25, are more likely to hold attitudes that support violence.
The three boys who are part of the class, along with about 10 girls, initially found the experience confronting, she says.
"It's like when you understand that you're privileged because you're a white person – you didn't choose it, there's nothing you can do about it, but you have [privilege] nonetheless – and it's a confronting thing to know how [you] are supposed to feel about it?"

Yeah - male privilege, rape culture, violent males bla bla...

Any sane country should instantly ban such drivel from ever reaching any university or media article - or get any funding whatsoever. But of course the contrary is true.

Oh man do I feel your pain. I attended elementary school in the Netherlands, born in 1989.

Be glad it was just your final year, I suffered through the better part of a decade being stuck in the same class as borderline retards, the wonderful fruits of our Multicultural Experiment.

Children of doctors, engineers and businessmen in the same class as the children of people who didn't speak basic Dutch and never even finished elementary school back in their country of origin. Those with enough money escaped to private schools, the rest of us atrophied.

I honestly believe I would've been no worse off if I had spent age 4-12 at home playing video games and jerking off rather than in Dutch public education.

Holy Crap, you just gave me a flashback. Same shit happening in California. I also remember that the better students actually had to take over the tutoring of the slower students, to give the teacher even more of a break.

I got in trouble in sixth grade when the teacher told me to help the dumbest guy in class learn Greek Mythology. The teacher got really mad at me when I tried to get the kid to read from Bulfinch's Mythology, instead of an even more dumbed down version with pictures.

He laid into me for not picking a text more in line with the guy's reading level, and I remember staring at him thinking:

They pulled that one on us during our High School Years, calling it a 'Peer Support' Program.

My last year of Primary School had made me realise that teachers and institutions were full of smelly hippies and lesbos, all useless and contemptible, so by this stage of High School I didn't give a shit bout academic achievement any more, saying "So, we're doing your jobs for you without getting paid?"

I got a lot of detention in High School. I'd never go, since they'd outlawed corporal punishment by then, so the only punishment they could give me was just more detention that I wouldn't go to either.

They'd call my mother in, explain the situation, and she'd say "Well, he's right." She had no time for idiots either.

Of course, I was told all of this was going on my permanent record.

I'm lucky compared to you guys that my school still had advanced classes for both middle school and high school. Once you got to highschool you just went up to the next grade level. You could actually take college classes at our local community college while still in highschool.

Also, in my county we actually had a hard science and math center and a career school so it had plenty of resources if you were going into engineering and math or trades.

The indoctrination always takes a lot longer to hit the Midwest.

Yup. When we began units in elementary school we all took a placement test and the slow kids got put in their slow group, the majority were put in the average group, and the advanced students were put in the accelerated group.

I just finished dating a hot 41yo corporate spinster. She was in fantastic shape for her age thanks to a 4 day a week gym routine and her degree in nutrition.

Despite her looks and smarts enabling her for an easy 'affirmative action' ascenscion to the executive, she couldn't shut up about the sexism in the workplace. Men shutting her out of the loop, denying her promotions etc etc.

The sad truth was that she was a combatitive, confrontational bitch who would always escalate minor disagreements into conflict. She would mind-read and project the worst of intentions onto others when things didn't go her way.

Deep down though I discovered that she came from a broken home where her father left her (likely bitchy) mother at a young age and she was left to fend off lecherous step-fathers. This eventually led to her dominant, hyper-masculinised demeanour because she saw femininity as weak.

There's a good chance that this girl is a teenage bossy bitch and is legitimately being smacked down for a lack of social grace and tact. She's young, but smart girls learn quick that feminist mantra is a great deflection to make others believe that you aren't in the wrong when you act out of order.

She will end up like the spinster above if she isn't corrected, but I can't see that happening in the forseeable future, so I guess its cats, sex-in-the-city and a barren womb for her.

Man, at least you guys were lucky. Try going to a dumbed-down American school in the 'hood. Out of my 13 year public school education, 10 years were in the ghetto inner-city. I still don't know how the fuck I did it.

I attended the most ghetto inner-city schools in my city (elementary, middle, and a little of high school). Full-time security guards patrolling the halls. Fights every week. Pregnancies, drug use, stabbings and gang-related shootings. Many skipped class or just dropped out altogether.

I was probably the smartest kid in school by default of everyone else being stupid and academically averse (I kept it low key so nobody would try to pick on me). My breaking point came when I got into a fist-fight at 14 with a ratchet hoodrat; she was my age but a foot taller than me because I was a small scrawny kid (late-bloomer). Everyone instigated it but I held my own and kicked her ass.

Mid-Freshman year my prayers were answered, I transferred to a really good high school an hour away from my home. It was middle/upper class mostly all-white high school with good academic and sports programs. I fit in well without any issues. Surprisingly I can't remember any feminist indoctrination (I only saw that shit once I got into university). But I do agree that there might be feminist indoctrination now.

So I didn't really notice feminist indoctrination in public school that much, but I did definitely see firsthand how the quality of education is pathetic in this country. That's why kids in Asia and Europe score better than us in tests.

I went to an almost all-white school where kids of academics usually go to. We had a few high performing Turks and Persians there, but they were all secular and went on to study something useful.

The way that the country has designed it was by creating highly different schools while all officially had the same curriculum. There were students who did not pass at my school and then moved to a more "diverse" one and it turned out that they did not have to study anything for years and get passing grades (while at mine they studied semi-hard and failed).

Teachers and recourses are the least problems there as was shown in the past also in the US: http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-298.html

A high-performing disciplined black kid will fit into any school that is made up of other such kids - regardless of race or heritage. But you cannot take undisciplined kids and stuff them into an elite school expecting stupendous results - those kids will just fuck up the elite school.

I went to an all male school. I really can't remember learning a single thing about women during my time in high school or anything specifically feminist related.

The one thing I do remember is the absolutely ridiculous subject 'weighting' that was applied by the board of studies [Which I assume was highly feminist].

In Australia your entry scores from high school used to be determined by test scores [As was the case during my parents era]. What happened during my time in high school however was that they changed this to a combination of year long assessments and final test scores because "historically females didn't handle the stress of testing as well as men".

They went on to find that studies proved girls handled assessments distributed throughout the year better than the stress of a 'big test'.

Obviously the moment anyone reads this you can probably see why so many companies tank when they are forced into 'quotas'. The same qualifications don't mean the same capabilities. Life is about pressure situations. Essentially what happened was that women sucked at the previous method of grading so it was changed to make it easier for them.
