Women will date or even marry a man who is not financially stable, and go so far as to support him, as long as they find him ambitious. Now, women are a pretty poor judge of what ambitions are realizable. They'll date the guy whose sole ambition is "dont worry bae once my mixtape blow up we gon have all da money we need." Generally, women care more about your mission than the fruits of the mission (this may change upon her hitting Rollo's "epiphany" phase and wanting to lock in financial security, but that's not an issue for her until the late 20's/early 30's). The point is that it's almost never what you do but how you do it.
I've known guys that fell into six figure incomes and did not lack for money. But they didn't have inside them that burning desire to achieve beyond where they're at and women intuitively know that this means when things turn and he finds himself without a job, he's gonna have a hard time regaining his one time success. I work in an industry where my income is variable. Sometimes I kill it, other times work dries up and I'm living a spartan life and bleeding through savings. But I love the industry that I'm in and when a woman asks about it, my eyes twinkle describing what a vital function my company and myself provide in the marketplace. It's a nerdy passion and I've not ran into many women that have even a clue about what it really means. But they see the passion for it, the ambition to continue doing it and to grow within this industry, and that is infectious.
You don't need a career or big paycheck to get laid. What you need is goals and ambitions and you need those goals to not be about the paycheck but to be about the underlying dream itself. They can tell this fairly well. In much the same way that when you're flirting with a girl because you love sex and want to bang her, she can pick up on that. But when you're flirting with a pretty girl because you enjoy flirting with pretty girls and that is your mission with sex being merely the ancillary reward, the measuring stick for being successful at gaming, she'll turn to putty in you hands and a wet spot in your bed.
