Been interested in boxing as a method of training myself, whats a good work routine if you want to get in shape to start boxing? What muscles should you give more attention, or is it a full body thing?

I boxed amateurs and golden gloves for about four or five years... As far as the conditioning IMO boxing is the best physical workout out there, especially sparring. Your best punch and combo will depend on the scenario and the opponent but most everyone has a best punch. At 6'4, my goal was to keep distance w the jab and straight right but the left to the body was my punisher. If you want to compete, definitely get the conditioning down and get your roadwork in. If you just want a workout beyond aerobic boxing, sparring once or twice a week for as many rds as you can will get you right... One might suspect a boxers arms would be the first to go in a fight but for me it was usually my legs that would get tired. Hope this helps.

Ive trained in boxing for awhile but have no intentions on going pro, i want to start to learn krav maga or russian systema within the next few months, they just seem much more effective in handling the occasional clubar rumble, even if you have boxing skills you still run the risk of fucking up your hands in a street fight, i fucked up my wrist a few years ago in a fight with some deuchebag outside of a club and it has never been the same.

favorite punch: lead hook to the body
favorite combo: jab, lead hook this is a good combo if you been throwing the jab straight right combination.
favorite combo: a real classic, the jab. straight right. left hook. combination.
favorite combo: lead hook to the body. right hook. easy to get power off this combination.
style: i only boxed for like 3-4 months, but i loved countering with the crazy monkey defense.
gear: i used some fairtex gloves
i dont spar anymore i dont even train boxing at all now. right now im doing judo...throwing people is pretty fun haha
