A friend of mine is going to one of the courses offered by this place in San Francisco:

http://www.jaunty.org/

Apparently they offer courses for men only. From the blurb:

"This one’s for the guys. With a heavy focus on dating and romance, our six-week Men’s Comprehensive Course, covers theory, hands-on exercises and real world training in all seven social skills described above. As in the co-ed course, this course also covers relationships with friends and family, social interactions in business and networking. Numbers are kept small in this dynamic, practical class where we discuss social intelligence from a uniquely male perspective. This class is for men only and runs once a week from 6:30-9:30PM."

On the front page:

"We learned simple but powerful Jedi skills for creating deeper personal connections, unlocking a lifetime of professional, social, and romantic abundance." -Jim P., Jaunty graduate

This sets my bullshit alarm detectors ringing, but maybe that's just me.

Thoughts?

Skimmed the blog and it seems like one of those weird blogs that tries to coach men and women on dating, Disney style. The instructors also looked like herbs so I'm definitely not sold.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

I recommend the tried and true male-centric membership of World of Warcraft.

On top of all the value you listed above, they also offer a multi-million men's fashion convention called BlizzCon. Last month, I hit a divebar as a ginger dwarf with a battleaxe. The amount of female eye contact (which I skillfully averted) I got entering the room already justified the amount I paid for the outfit. The bouncers hesitated to ask me to leave not because I had a battleaxe, but obviously because I was getting the bitches wet.

I've also learned an infinite amount of valuable skills, such as trolling, raging, router repairs, eye contact avoidance, dialogue stuttering, etc.

Playing World of Warcraft has also help me with my hands-on exercises when I'm alone in the dark in front my computer screen.

With that being said, what are you waiting for? Get your membership now!!!

Welcome to RVF, by the way.

Given the location, I have a feeling that their focus may be somewhat specific to members of the tech community who suffer from Aspergers/high functioning autism. If that's the case, then maybe anything would be an improvement.
