Car Crash Casanova Caught Canoodling Copiously, Plebians Plaudit

Article below, emphasis my own:

Quote:Quote:

A young Romeo who dated at least 17 Juliets at once - including fathering a child with one of them - got his comeuppance after a car accident when doctors contacted his "relatives" - and all his girlfriends turned up at the same time.

The man from Changsha, in Hunan province, identified only by his surname, Yuan was taken to hospital on March 24 with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

His girlfriends - and hospital staff - were stunned to discover the truth when they arrived en masse to find they were going out with the same man, Changsha newspaper Xiaoxiang Chen Bao reported on Friday.

One of the girlfriends, who called herself Xiao Li, said: "I've been with him for a year and a half. [After hearing he'd been in an accident] I cried so hard I didn't have any tears left.

"I was really worried when I heard that he was in hospital. But when I started seeing more and more beautiful girls show up, I couldn't cry any more."

Xiao said she had set up an online chat group made up of 17 of Yuan's partners. She said she had learned that some of Yuan's other girlfriends had given him money each month - sometimes large sums - with one woman providing him with financial support for nine years.

Wang Fang, another of Yuan's partners, said: "We've already had a son together. What can I do now? I don't love him any more, but I do love my son."

Another girlfriend, who gave her name as Xiao Ting, said she had believed that Yuan was her "Mr Right", and she had already started to plan their wedding.

More than 6,000 comments have been posted on social media. Some expressed admiration for the man, while others said the women should have been smarter and discovered his deceit.

A commentator from Jiangsu province wrote: "A liar always acts perfectly. The only thing he paid them were compliments, which are all that women wanting a perfect life will need. So as a consequence, they were cheated on."

Is McMahon-ing your thread title going to become a rule now?

It's always awesome alliterating anything!

But seriously, I also partly stole it from the BBC article linking to the one posted: http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-news-from-...e-32194530

This story is suspiciously similar to the Romanian (or wherever) kid who supposedly had HIV/AIDS, and sounds similarly fake.

Also, this extravagant alliteration thing is getting tiresome. Moderation is key.

Don't dish out too much grief at the thread titles. SteveMcMahon set the new standard for others to follow. Or at least try....

Back to the point, this sounds a little too extreme. It would be a lot more believable if it were four or less women.

I don't know, you do get these cases from time to time. There have been several cases where a guy father 20 something children with more than a dozen women and ends up paying two or three dollars a month in CP to each because he is a deadbeat.

This isn't the story I was looking for, it is a different guy, but he did father 34 kids with 17 different women:

http://downtrend.com/71superb/black-man-...rent-women

Is it that unbelievable that a guy could string along more than a dozen women? I don't know, doesn't sound too far fetched to me. There have been cases of conmen who have been married to more than 4 or 5 people at the same time with each woman thinking she was the only one.

Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.

Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.

But he must spend so little time with each woman. Even if we consider that he's making money off them so doesn't have to work (this is his job, basically).

What kind of relationship do you have where you see each other several hours a week?

It's not too farfetched logistically speaking--spend a few hours a week with some, not seeing them more than once in a week or two, and more or less with the others depending on their individual level of connection. If he was, in fact, making a living through them, keeping them on a rotation wouldn't be out of the question at that point.

It's been years but I remember watching one of those true crime documentaries about conmen on A&E or some similar channel. They had this guy who was married to something like 8 different women (to be clear, I don't remember all the details and this was older shock television, so maybe it was fake or exaggerated) at the same time. The guy had all these families and spent a lot of time with them. The way he did it was to spin lies upon lies about his work. He would go out of town "on business" for a few days to a week and spend that time juggling a couple wives and kids in that state. Then he would do it again a week later and so on and so on. Week to two week business trips aren't that unusual. Throw in some family emergencies, work emergencies, and whatever else and I could see how you stagger a bunch of marriages and families and keep everyone in the dark.

That was way back in the day too. I think it was in the 70s or 80s when this happened and it was probably early 00s when I watched the show. In this day and age of long distance relationships (there are a surprisingly large number of them these days), Skype, and all the other ways to get in touch....well, does it really seem that unlikely...though it is probably much more difficult than it would have been in the 70s due to things like facebook. Spend a few hours a day a few days a week with each girl, seeing two to three girls a day, keep in touch with the others, lie and lie some more, and he could probably have spent a full days worth of time with each girl every 7-10 days while still keeping in touch through text, calls, Skype, and facebook.

What I don't understand is how they all found out at the same time. That seems somewhat fishy to me.

I don't get it. Did he have all 17 girlfriends listed as emergency contacts? Why would the hospital call all of them?

If it is true though, that's impressive. I have trouble juggling 3 girls, I couldn't imagine doing 17. Though I have to wonder what the point of it is. Why not just keep a couple "girlfriends" while sleeping around? Why convince 17 girls that you're being faithful?

Agreed. Writing great thread titles isn't "McMahon-ing" any more than telling a girl to take off her shoes before she comes into your house is "Tuthmosis-ing."
