The Alpha M Diet

I don't know if any of you guys follow Aaron Marino, or his Pseudonym AlphaM on Youtube, but the guy has some pretty solid advice on fitness, health, and style. His game advice I would take with a grain of salt, and really don't follow at all.

However, the guy is an ex natural bodybuilder, and knows his stuff when it comes to eating and staying lean year round. I've been following his diet protocol over the past month or so and have experienced maintained weight, yet I am much (2 whole bf %'s dropped) leaner. I'll post it below:
http://www.iamalpham.com/index.html/topic...diet-plan/

It is essentially modified paleo and concentrates on carb timing (which I appreciate; if I don't eat carbs I get the worst headaches).

Thought I'd give it a post and see what you guys think. Definitely worth giving a shot, summer's just around the corner after all. [Image: wink.gif]

Danger & Play is the best bodybuilding source around right now. I've learned a ton in just 4 podcasts.

Mike knows his shit for sure, could you post any dietary stuff he has? I enjoy his juicing information, but I haven't seen specific diets you can follow.

I asked him about carb timing here: http://www.dangerandplay.com/ask-dp-anyt...1358458793

His answer:

"Carbs before, during, and after workout only. Protein and fats/EFAs/MCT oil, etc. the rest of the day. Then a "reefed" day with 300-500 gms of carbs every 7-10 days."

Carb timing is becoming more popular in lifting and bodybuilding circles, it seems. I started doing what Mike recommended - carbs only before, during and after workouts. I didn't bother with the refeed, and instead just make sure to have lots of carbs pre and post workout. Mostly white rice, 1-2 rice cups (500-1000 calories) before and 1-2 cups after - so about 1,000+ calories of carbs on workout days. Have only gotten slimmer and stronger while doing so.

If I don't eat substantial amounts of carbs before an afternoon or night workout, my workout suffers greatly - I'll feel too tired to do a major lift towards the end of the workout. I think I can manage a morning workout without rice beforehand, but I might swig some honey to get me through.

Edit: He just uploaded a podcast on carb cycling: http://www.dangerandplay.com/2014/05/23/...intensity/

at the end of the day, its about what you eat and how you eat, and when you eat it.

I eat every 3-4 hours on the dot.

my Meal consist of straight Carbs and protein, for the overall goal of leaning and losing weight.
if im going to build more muscle, i will add more FAT into the equation.
No salt's and no sugar, (barely any)

Carbs: Brown Rice
Protein: Buffalo meat or White meat chicken 4-5 Ounces.

1 month i managed to drop 10 pounds from 165-155

It all goes to show that your abs and body is built inside the kitchen.
