Protein "pudding"

So I've seen a lot of people post questions regarding protein and morning meals, so I thought I'd make a thread on what's worked really well for me

I used to do protein shakes, but find my time in the morning to be incredibly limited, and I hate constantly doing dishes. I now make all my weeks worth of meals on Sunday, including my breakfast protein supplement.

I take a 3 cup tupperware container and fill it with the following

Greek yogurt (140 calorie, 23g protein, 9g sugar)
Psyllium husk (low calorie, high fiber)
Oatmeal (for energy)
Creatine (when using)
Protein powder (10-18g protein per 100 calories). USE CHOCOLATE FLAVOR
Raw egg (extra protein source, helps consistency)
Dashes of strong coffee (for helping mix, plus adds a bit of caffeine)

Taking a few spoonfuls of this every morning is a fast, easy way to get some carbs, a fair bit of fiber and a boatload of protein. I don't have the mess of a daily shake and I get to have protein from a variety of sources (I generally even use multiple protein powders, since I find that some are better than others for protein per calorie, but than others have excellent flavor, ie musclemilk)

If you want it be more of a meal, don't use eggs and up the husk content. The egg makes it much smoother to eat, but the drier it is the longer it takes to go down, and the more full you feel while you have it. Greek yogurt is the least calorically dense, so you can also up the ratio of that and decrease the coffee, also while upping husk content to make it more of a meal.

I usually eat around 200 calories worth and get around 35g+ of protein if I divide it all out

THX for sharing. I will definitely try this.

I make a similar yogurt parfait:

-acai berries
-banana
-greek yogurt
-bran cereal

Then I'll have some egg whites

I never thought of adding protein powder directly. Also mixing in coffee could be a good idea

I just read the title and figured that would be an excellent phrase to use next time I'm banging.

"Me llaman el desaparecido
Que cuando llega ya se ha ido
Volando vengo, volando voy
Deprisa deprisa a rumbo perdido"

Thanks for the ideas I was getting bored with the same stuff.

I will share an easy snack/ small meal

Blend up some almonds so they are ground up
then add to blend
plain or greek yogurt
handful of raw spinach
spoon full of peanut butter
banana
scoop raw oatmeal (protein powder scooper)
some milk or water if its too thick

You can mix it up all you want to have more or less stuff but the blender is a great tool.

Doesn't protein powder get denatured after being mixed?

Isn't the psyllium redundant given the fiber in oatmeal?

I'm also tired of cleaning my blender everyday. I'll give this a go. Thanks.

The protein only is denatured via cooking or baking, not simply mixing. As well, it doesn't affect the benefits to the person consuming it anyway even if cooked.

And Oatmeal is 4G fiber per 150 calories, vs 9g per 35 calories with the husk. Some of my protein powder actually has more fiber per calorie

A lot of additives in that. You can easily thicken up protien shakes with gelatine or tapoica starch and use a almond paste, coconut milk, or egg yolks to make a custard, to make it creamy.

Thanks for answering, and for the thread. Do you have a reference for your fiber intake? Personally I've never gone out of my way to consume more fiber, so I don't know why you do.

Kosko, a coconut milk pudding sounds delicious. For what it's worth, the coconut cream from Trader Joe's is far better than any other I've had - it has the consistency of whipped cream cheese roughly, and a touch of sweetness. I've made creamed spinach with caramelized onions with it and it was delicious.

Fiber adds to it being a more filling meal, also guarantees a shit. And it's super cheap at Trader Joes haha, I think like 7 dollars for 40+ servings

I'll have to try the coconut
