A single mom dating a single dad is probably the best scenario that a single mom can reasonably expect. Apart from that, if you get in a LTR with those girls, you will be the beta paying for all, while she will get alpha cock elsewhere. So, the girl is in her prime years, gets fucked by many men, gets pregnant, gets dumped, and finds a man that will accept to take care of another man's genetic offspring.
So you end up paying for a bastard child,
with an ex always in the picture,
your money that could be invested goes in raising a child that isn't yours.
My mom separated from my father when I was 4 years old. They were together for several years, but couldn't make it. She found a boyfriend after that. And many places we went, for example a public park, I could see the other kids with both their parents. Sometimes my stepfather talks to me but I didn't hear, and another kid says "hey, your father is talking to you". This makes both me, and the boyfriend feel bad. I always respected them because they were chosen by my mother, but it's never a father.
I told my main girl, that whenever we have a child, I want a paternity test right at birth. I said that I want to eliminate any doubt, for example, like it happened to my friend, getting a random message on facebook, "hey, ask Emily to contact me, I try to get news about my son but your gf doesn't return my calls". I want to just blow them out and say, this child is mine and I have a DNA proof. She actually agreed to that idea without showing anger.
I found an interesting article on Judgy Bitch's blog:

A single mother is a woman who had a child outside of any established relationship, or a relationship so fragile the thickest retard in the world ought to have been able to see bringing a child on board was a FUCKING TERRIBLE IDEA. Single mothers are bona fide idiots and here is why you should never even consider dating one:
First, this is a woman who clearly doesn’t give a shit about her child’s well-being and future prospects.
