I should probably be more charitable than I am. Sometimes I find myself stewing in my own day-to-day bullshit and forget that so many people are having a worse day, not to mention a more difficult life, than I.

Last good deed that I remember was waiting at the bus stop in the rain. Offered a lady to stand under my umbrella so that she wouldn't get drenched. She asked if I had change for a $5 so she'd have exact bus fare. I told her not to worry about it and paid for her fare.

There's a charity called Dress For Success that donates work clothing to women trying to find jobs. I'm trying to find the equivalent for men because I have a bunch of ties, shirts, shoes and a few suits that I wouldn't mind donating.

I think it's inspiring to others that may decide to go and do something nice also because they read that even Suits pulled the corn cobb out of his ass and helped someone too.

If people can't do something positive without someone else bragging about their "good deeds" first, they probably wouldn't have anyway.

Posting on a forum about it amongst your peers isn't bragging suits there's very little recognition in mentioning it here. I'd say it's a great way to share ideas about how you can help. For example I had no idea you could donate miles.

Oh I should mention my hug campaign was different from the first one I posted about.

Helped my sister move out of her house. It took ten hours, there's no way she could have done that herself. She's divorcing her husband and that was her trump card, it looks like. I guess he has "control issues", he called the cops on her once or twice because she went out drinking with her friends. Other than that, I don't know a whole lot, they kept a lot of their problems to themselves.

At a new years eve party in some hole in the wall bar, me and a couple of buddies were celebrating a quiet new years. A drunk older woman tried walking through our group and she tripped on a beer bottle. I caught her before she hit the ground, likely sparing her an injury.

Walking down Sukhimvit Road in Bangkok. Waiting at a pedestrian island in the middle of a major street. To my left is a crazy looking Arab man. To his left are three school girls in uniform - perhaps 13/14 years old. Arab guy strokes one of the girl's hair. She tries to get away but can't because of the traffic. I grab his hand and tell him to stop. He looks at me like I'm crazy and does it again. I grab him to move him away from the girls. He punches me. I punch him back and leave him lying in the pedestrian island. First time I've punched a guy in almost 15 years.

- A few weeks ago I was up at 7 to drive my Dad two hours into the city to see his specialist.

- I make weekly grocery and liquor runs for his 93 year old neighbor. She always gives me a little extra to get something for myself, but I'd do it even if she didn't.

- I do some volunteer work for the park nearby where I am staying for the summer.

- At my job I occasionally tutor free of charge to women aged 18-35. (...)

- Lastly, and this one was today: two kids (maybe 20-21 years old), a boy and a girl, walked by me as I was having a smoke. I only had three smokes left in my pack. As my knowledge of game has given me some insight into general human behavior and dynamics, I knew the score; the boy liked the girl and was trying to fuck her, his body language gave him away, and her body language indicated that she wasn't totally closed to the idea (would probably require liquor to seal it I reckon). He stopped and said 'Hey man, excuse me, do you have an extra cigarette?'

In a previous post made earlier tonight, I mention that in Canada cigarettes - even shitty discount brands, have become ungodly expensive. I am home for another month, I have finite money, but I knew the score. I pulled my pack out, handed him two smokes (not one to him, one to her - both to him), he said 'Thanks bro!', I said 'No worries' and was on my way. Some might say giving nicotine to young people doesn't qualify as a good deed, but that's not how I see it. How do I see it? I helped out a youngblood when he needed it.

I often go back to the little blue-collar town that houses the college I attended. I always patronize at least one of the family businesses.

This past Tuesday I noticed they have a new hot dog stand. So when I got a dog with sauerkraut and mustard, I told them they could keep the change if they threw in an extra napkin.

It was only around 70 cents, but you'd have thought I'd given them a major tip judging by how grateful they were.

In general, I let mom and pop businesses keep the change. I figure if everyone did this, it would add up and they'd have an easier time staying solvent.

Plus there is a selfish motive. I want them to stay around because I like them. I'm still not over the Asian-run-Italian-deli that closed back in 2004. Mama Rosa (if that was your real name) I miss you and your Italian cold cut subs!

Ya'll got any stories you'd care to share?

I have two stories of note:

Last month, I was driving on the interstate when a mattress flew off the back of some guy's truck. I pulled over and helped him retrieve and reattach the mattress.

Earlier this year, I came back to my apartment very late (3AM-ish) and encountered a man nervously pacing in the common area. He said he was having a particularly bad anxiety attack, so I stayed with him until he felt safe to go back to his apartment.

Simply sharing your humanity has become a charity here.

I give people full eye-contact, complete english statements, and positive energy with masculine but non-aggressive body language that keeps others feeling safe and at ease.

This happened years ago to me but I think I'll share it, it was the homeless man that did the good deed. I was really down on my luck having a hard time and in a completely broken state of mind, kind of hopeless. It was a hard time for me. I was sitting on a bench outside of a supermarket on my lunch break, a homeless man came up to me, asked me what was wrong, sat next to me and said a prayer with me, for me, that things would get better. I don't cry much but I did then. Things did get better, I was a broken man back then.

I had an interesting one the other night. While pumping gas, I had a lady with some kids in a bear up old van stop me at the gas station. She said she was homeless and needed a place to stay for the night. She said she needed $27 to get a hotel. I had a 10 and gave her the $10. Then she has the nerve to ask, do you have $17 more? I looked at her in disgust and walked away.

I cut off a fat girl getting in the elevator then made her feel awkward for a few seconds before making more room.

Answered a call on my computer in the middle of a meeting then proceeded to flirt with the hr lady who called for a few seconds before telling her to call back later.

It was a good day
