I think you need to differentiate between American men and women given the absolutely awful preponderance of vocal fry among the latter these days.

Actually, I'm wondering what vocal fry sounds like in another language like Spanish or French..can they actually do that?

Mexicans in Mexico and the U.S. find it annoying and funny when Americans speak Spanish. Americans tend to add an o after every word (the ones that can't speak it well). Many find it funny and many mock them as well and make fun of it.

In Spanish, most native English speakers sound very funny. English accents sound very stiff in Spanish, probably because the English language is "stiffer" than Spanish accents, lots of hard consonants.

In English, a lot of Spanish accents sound pretty feminine/gay.

American English vowels are longer and more rounded while Spanish vowels are short, abrupt and clipped. That is why they sound they way they do.

Also not being able to pronounce two the versions of the Spanish 'r' makes you sound very gringo.

Jennifer Lopez's Spanish is pretty embarassing also.
