If so, I would like to know what is it you do.
Do you LOVE your job?
Crickets...
I gather a lot of us are working towards something, and not exactly where we want to be just yet.

I do, 100%
It took me some decisive moments to change everything and go for Music (classical) as my life and i will never ever regret it, because it allows me to know more about me and meet many interesting people in the World.
Until last year i did the touring as a soloist bit. Now i am one of the heads of an Arts institution.
My life can always be better, but if i do a "pause", then i need nothing, it is a great feeling.

I know this may sound random but I finally found a career I really like in manufacturing supply chain & logistics. It has allowed me international travel and is a really cool field that touches everything from finance to negotiations to international law to international markets, etc. And it is in demand just about anywhere which makes my skills easily transportable. It is what got me to China, Korea, and Brazil and hopefully somewhere else this year. It was a hard field to break into though without experience but having an MBA and getting a certification (CPIM) really helped.
I love the idea of my job, security, but the company I work for is an autocratic nightmare. I'd love make it in this industry, but I need more schooling and a new company and with my pay and future that's hard to come by right now.

Oh man you're so lucky to be living from the music scene, I wish I were.
