I imagine Californians are doing the same with Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah etc.

Did you not read your own article? It has whites at 41% and Hispanics at 20% in abortion rates.

So crossing the border somehow makes someone less traditional? Really? I doubt it.

They relate more to the conservative party than they do with Liberals, but thanks to the negative racist rhetoric that comes from Republicans, that makes Hispanics flee the other way.
Look at the level of socialism in South and Central America.

This is one of the huge problems with immigration - just about everyone coming to America is coming from a more socialist country. A small minority understand the significance of a constitutional republic, but most will just vote to make America like the place they left.

I see this all the time in the South, where people from the Northeast come down and vote to make things just like the liberal dystopia they left.

Cuban Americans coming from Cuba are generally Republicans. Yes! Cuba, a communist country. Think of all the Republican Hispanics in Congress! They are of Cuban descent. Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Carlos Gutierrez and many others. The notion that because Latin American countries are "socialist" and therefore their immigrants are liberal is a huge understatement. The Cuban community had been a Republican bloc for decades, but with the anti-Hispanic and anti-immigrant rhetoric coming from the Republicans, Cuban Americans are starting to side with the Democrats now.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/03...38089.html

Thats an aging class of hispanic immigrant. Today the entitlement mentality has sunk in so deeply that things like personal pride, hard work and self sufficiency are all but gone with newer voters. Yes, traditionally Cubans and others were conservative, but thats no longer the case.

Yes, crossing the border, speaking a new language, acclimating to a different culture... these things can make a difference. Not exactly mind-blowing.

I feel like this is likely more of a refutation of the establishment in DC than the republican party going further right, but maybe I'm wrong. I grew up in Cantor's district and already considered him crazy right wing. I've been steadily getting more conservative as I get older, at least fiscally, and about whether the government can manage anything well, but the republican party is way too out there for me.

I'm pro-immigration though- I like banging foreign chicks and want economic growth. In the next few decades we're really going to see countries go into serious decline because of population and working age population declines. Japan first and then parts of Europe will likely be next.

I also think as a country we willfully didn't enforce our laws and not enforcing the law might as well be the same as not having it. There's so many laws on the books now you probably break one every day before you even take a shit in the morning.

In ways we encouraged these immigrants for their cheap labor and now they've settled down and are a part of american society. I've visited Mexico and sure the culture is a bit different but a lot of those people are fat, watch a lot of TV and seem fairly american to me.

We need to enforce the borders, enforce the law on companies hiring labor and reform the immigration system so we favor immigrants that will contribute culturally and economically to our country and integrate well, but at this point we aren't actually get net new Mexican immigrants.

This conservative is on my side.

So you show me an article that is contradictory where one figure has whites at 40% and Hispanics at 20% and another figure with Whites at 13% and Hispanics at 33%. It seems to me that you have a hard time dealing with the fact that the MAJORITY of Hispanics hold strong conservative values. Crossing the border is irrelevant since the MAJORITY of Hispanics in America are actually legal citizens. Even the Republican God Ronald Reagan admits it by saying "Hispanics are Republican, they just don't know it yet"

The Republicans have just done a horrible job in attracting Hispanics because of anti-immigrant rhetoric like the one you are displaying on here. The most conservative and traditional Hispanic will run away and vote for the other party when he hears anti-Hispanic rhetoric. Its just the way it is.

I don't see how replacing Cantor with a tea-partier is an improvement.

Republicans should focus on 2024 after Clinton finishes her second term.

Focusing on the demographic of the candidate alone is ridiculous. Hopefully most of us have more sense than to believe that the next presidents will be elected on more than just ethno-gender qualifications. Hillary is already being 'clit' blocked repeatedly for even showing interest in the presidency.

Midwest, you didn't read either of those statistics correctly. That graph is a rate, so a bigger bar means a higher rate of abortions.

How can republicans expect to win an election when they hate blacks, gays,Hispanics and women rights.

I can't believe they chose Mitt Romney, being a Mormon that's pretty scary to the evangelicals.

If the GOP does lose in 2016, then all of us American men are f'ed.

The Democratic party is the feminist party of the USA, pushing for more and more feminism. Destroy the economy, destroy the middle class, destroy men, it works for them because women are the larger voter base and the more the Democrats can get women to hate and distance themselves from men, the more they can win.

This is a great thing for the GOP. We are in serious economic trouble and flooding the country with millions of unskilled and unproductive citizens will only cause more destruction of the middle class and of the American male.

The millions are already here for many years, do you really want to systematically kick them and their families out? The inflow of illegals from Mexico has basically stopped as of a year or so ago.

I wish the republican party would abandon their losing battles around abortion, immigration and a few other issues and actually take the "culture" war to areas where I don't agree with the democrats, like affirmative action, being post-feminism and pro individual liberty.

To me though it seems like they hellbent on self destructing completely before they, or another party, can be reborn.

The inflow has FAR from stopped. The number of children immigrants has tripled in the last 3 years and it is expected to double again by 2016. When Obama said he wanted to give amnesty they started to flood in like crazy.

Our economy cannot handle this. Adding them as citizens will be an even greater drain on the economy as they will get even MORE in handouts, aka will steal even more from the middle class.

I do wish the Republican party would abandon the war on abortion and prostitution and weed. I agree with you on these things. The Republican party for the most part has these wrong. But these three things are tiny in the bigger picture.

The bigger picture is the economy. And economically we are in deep trouble and flooding the country with more unskilled low wage workers will just cause more problems for us economically. Especially when there are already so many Americans out of work.

Wow, just heard this on the news this morning.

During an average year the USA gets 6,500 illegal immigrant children. This year we are on pace for 90,000 at this point. And 3 military bases are currently being used to house them.

Next year they are saying we should expect 150,000+. If this isn't stopped, and you are an American citizen who wants to live a decent life or at least make enough money to leave the USA to move else where, you might want to change your plans. It cannot be afforded and our economy will go the way of Greece very soon.

Kids from impoverished illegal households like this aren't going to make up the middle class either. It wouldn't be bad at all if they were going to be middle class consumers and producers.

I would bet money that they are going to be future MS-13, Mexican mafia, cartel hitmen etc.. living in vast barrios. I wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. has its own favela culture in 15-20 years time. California is already like this to some extent. Look at shit holes like east LA and other places with vast swathes of demilitarized zones where several generations of under class illegal latinos have taken hold.

The thing about America is that the media and politics loves to idolize impoverished brown/black people. Gangster thug culture is popular in the media and is rewarded in society. American women find it to be sexy and appealing as well.

The acceleration of U.S. social decline is well on its way..

I hope that isn't the case, it could be.

Even if they end up being lower class income workers, which is probably the best case scenario, it will drain the middle class.

Low class workers still get govt. handouts. They get welfare. They get medicaid. They get school lunches for their kids for free. On and on.

Even if these people move here and are law abiding citizens, a majority of them will end up being a drain on the economy. A drain that we simply cannot afford. Our work participation rate is at the lowest level since it was normal for women to work outside the home. We have millions and millions of American citizens who badly want to work and there are no jobs for them out there. And now the liberal feminists want to add millions of more to their ranks.

This will crush the middle class and make a majority of the country either extremely poor or just keeping their head above water, no matter how hard you are willing to work.

Actually, tpiddy is right. Illegal immigration has halted in the past few years. Obama has deported the most illegal immigrants than any president in history,

https://www.aclu.org/blog/immigrants-rig...ion-record

This is mostly based on the US economy going in the tank while the Mexican economy has grown in the past decade. Not many Mexicans are going into the U.S. anymore in droves like they did during the 80s and 90s.

Hence, the end of the GOP party. In order to win the election, the Republicans need at least 35% of Hispanics to win. Romney and McCain both got 31% and 27% respectfully, way below that number. The only candidate who actually reached that number and more was George W. Bush with a whopping 44% hence, he became president.

This is not mathematically possible.

Sean Trende from realclearpolitics.com has been over this. Romney would need to win something like 70% of the hispanic vote to win the election in 2012.

Consider the states he needed to win: Wisconsin, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, New Hampshire, etc. He lost them all. And these are white states. Even getting FL wouldn't have changed that.

The Republicans lost 2012 because they didn't get the white vote out, while Axelrod's excellent campaign machine motivated his voters. They lost to a coalition of minorities - young people, single moms, ethnic minorities. Basically everyone (with the exception of Asians and Jews) who is a net recipient of public funds. Obama is at the head of anti white-male coalition.

Uncompromising patriotism + brains ---> tea-party, grass-roots level support = victory

The numbers backing Obama's deportation has been badly skewed. No one here truly believes Obama wants to curb illegal immigration. If he did, he would be doing nearly the exact opposite of what he is doing right now.

The number of illegal alien children here right now taking up three military bases is beyond alarming.

Hispanics by and large are conservatives. They believe in hard work and strong family values. At least that is what I have seen from many of them. Hard workers and good family structure.

Keeping labor down is what elitists want. They run big business, and keeping labor down makes them more money and helps destroy their small business competition. Elitists are big govt. supports who know they can best keep labor down with a growing govt. to destroy small business.
