90 Day Language Challenge

0 Day Language Challenge
There are some interesting foreign language threads popping up lately, so here is another...

You know what language(s) you want to learn so now it's time to work.

State your 90-day language goal, and we can use this thread to share tips and language-learning resources.

We can check back in 90 days to see where we are at.

Here is a good place to start (sort of the RFV of languages):

Wait a throw down the gauntlet ! A second or third language is essential , not only to having a solid international game, but also to have continued life-long learning. Bear in mind the 90 day challenge will, at best, provide a solid framework and, at a minimum a thirst for more study - that can only be quenched by an extended immersion programme abroad. Best wishes on your new and exciting journey

Challenge accepted.

I let my Spanish slip from reading children's novels like Goosebumps to practically nothing. Like, literally struggling to put sentences together. Ninety days from now I will have it back to where I was before or better, and will finally tackle Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal.

BBC also has some good language resources, for example videos/radio:

I'm in! Spanish... I used the first 5 or 6 Pimsleur Spanish units in the past and did maybe the first level of Rosetta Stone. That was a few years ago and I don't really remember much of it.

So the tools I will be using for this challenge is Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, and other random things I can do. I hear watching a movie you know well in Spanish can really help. I also paid for 6 months of LatinAmericanCupid so maybe I will find some Spanish speaking broads to conversate with as well.

90 days gentleman.... we can do this!

French for me. I've been using http://www.sharedtalk.com/ to talk with other native French speakers, and have some penpals from France and Belgium. I've also been using Michel Thomas course and Duolingo primarily. Going to integrate watching TinTin and reading children's books pretty soon, as well as listen to RFI Monde.

Yes. Mostly because she's 15.

I'll tell you I've been learning Spanish for the past 90 days

I used Coffee Break Spanish+duo lingo/vocab books to get the basics down
Then I listen to Notes in Spanish/other podcast to listen to conversations.

I need to get back in the Russian groove. I finished the beginner's/advanced Michel Thomas last year, now I need to go through them again and memorize before I hit the vocab. Got 6 CDs into Pimsleur but found it way too slow, might give them another go. Also a beginner's grammar I'm 60 pages into. Gotta go back, redo the exercises, then move forward.

There's a Michel Thomas/Pimsleur for Polish. I prefer Michel Thomas audio as it flows more easily.

Having a proper conversation in Russian by the end of July sounds like a good goal, I guess. Spanish, too

Went and saw Cesar Chavez today, good movie. Helped jog my memory a little bit with Spanish.

Slowly but surely.
