I banged one girl off hinge, but otherwise it's totally useless.

I have probably 75-100 matches and the girls straight up do not respond to anything.

I'm using the same profile pics and the same style of openers as Tinder, and a lot of the girls are the same girls on both apps, so I don't know what's up, but the engagement is substantially lower on hinge.

Hopefully they have some clever developers working on this problem, because it's a well done app, good branding, simple to use, and it attracts quality girls. But the social dynamics portion is not yet dialed.

Also, hot 18-22 year olds don't use "dating apps" like hinge. They use tinder because it's "not a dating app."

This happened to me recently when I made my newest account (all fat chicks coming up). Once you cycle through them, the better talent starts to appear. This didn't happen when I made my first account ~8 months ago.

hinge has by far the best quality. For some reason it filters out the uggos, most girls are 7-8 range.

The reason this thread hasn't gotten more action is because Hinge is basically only good in NYC. Tertiary dating apps are extremely city-specific.

I have used it in both SF and Pittsburgh. Way, way worse results for me than Tinder, and worse quality than both Tinder and Bumble.

Hinge is a good app. Match (same company that owns Tinder) bought it a few months ago. Don't expect the good times to last for much longer.

It is only good (for both volume and attractive level) in popular cities (think NYC, LA, London, etc.) Doesn't have much of a Latin America user base yet

Seems Hinge is popular among Jewish American chicks if that's your thing. Many of them are very attractive. Especially the Russian ones.

Tinder is much better for expats, travelers, diversity, etc still but theyre are a bunch of dudes paying to be up top its hard to get matches and a lot of girls aren't responding.

I put myself on Tantan recently just to see how it goes haha

Agreed on low response rate. I think last time I had it I got 15 matches or so in the first week and like... one of them responded. Anyone have ideas on why the response rate is so low compared to Tinder?

TanTan is Chinese. There are tons of Chinese students and immigrants here who use it in NYC. Along with a few other Asian girls. Got like 8 matches so far but not much luck.

edit: they limited it to 10 daily likes again? It used to be 10 likes, then it was unlimited, now it's limited again.

Well can't speak for anyone else but Hinge with a little bit of daygame has been super effective for me.

Even with the 10 like limit I still get a fair amount of matches every week. I think it helps that I'm tall and girls can filter through height on the app.

I've been on it for about 5-6 weeks now. Took a quick count of everything. 210 matches so far. And out of those I was able to get their number 39 times. Which is 18.5%. I'd say that is way better then anytime I've been on Tinder.

Hinge in NYC is a goldmine. I don't live in NYC full-time but when I come I can book dates for every night of the week easy. My stock on this app is much higher than it is in L.A. and I get a lot more likes. In NYC, 7 is prob my average but I went on a date with a proper model from the app and she liked me first. Was chatting with a news figure's daughter too but she fell off. A lot of brunette/Jewish girls on the app, which my thing.

For stats, I'm a good-looking well educated black guy. 5' 11". Early 30s. On Tinder, I'm more sexual. On Hinge, I'm witty but to the point. The only problem is that girls my age tend to want something more serious. But 25-28 year old girls I've had a lot of success with.

I get 10-12 bottom of the barrel girls. 3s and 4s out of 10. Then, I get one 8.5-9/10. Then, 10-12 more bottom of the barrel girls.

Repeat ad nauseum. No middle of the road girls. Just the extremes.

This has persisted over many months, despite deleting my profile and recreating it several months later.

Something is fucked with their shuffling algorithm for my account. This can't be chance. I know it's San Francisco, but there's no way it's this bad.
