Super Bowl XLVIII

Aware of the NFL thread, but I feel like this event (typically the 2nd-most watched television event in the world behind the Champions League Final) deserves it's own thread for RVF predictions, comments, and analysis.

I like Seattle to win this game, 33-24.
Statistics favor the Seahawks, who are not as much of a one-man team as the Broncos are.

Bold prediction: Both teams get a special teams touchdown.

What say you?

I'm still ruminating throwing some money down on the Seahawks.

The public is backing Denver, and Denver has the greatest individual star (Manning).

It's in cold weather and as you note, statistics favor the Seahawks--however, this is also widely-known--so Denver may be the contrarian choice!

Can't wait. Super Bowl Sunday is like a national holiday. I'm actually glad I slept in late otherwise I'd probably be drunk already.

Gonna have to go with Denver. Don't actually care either way, I just wanna see a good football game, drink some cold beer, and snack on salsa + chips and buffalo wings.

Never go in against a Manning when a ring is on the line!

Broncos all the way. First Super Bowl I ever watched was when Elway beat the Packers in '98.

Erin Andrews is meh. I would give her a 7. Average white chick on TV. I guess the football fans with overweight wives get crazy over her. I could imagine she was hotter 3-5 years ago.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

I don't know how often the cricket world cup is (assume every 4 like the others), but that's not really fair. It's because they are not that often that so many people watch them.

Edit: Huge stop there by Denver.

Seattle. This is Russel's time to show why he deserved to be the number one pick ahead of Luck and RG3. He got passed up in the because of his height and look at him now. In the Superbowl. I also like Richard Sherman as well. One of my favorite players in the NFL.

Cricket WC is every 4 years...just like all thee other world cups. The Cricket world cup is a true international event, unlike the Superbowl, or the "World Series" [though I guess the WS has some people in the Latin countries and Japan watching]. Still, you will have many more people watching cricket games just in India itself, than people watching the Superbowl.

Apparently 1 BILLION people watched the India vs Pakistan semifinal of the 2011 Cricket WC. ~400 million watched the final.

I don't doubt that, but they aren't equivalents.
