loosing my mind in the western world....

All I know is I'm tired of the Western b.s. and routine of 9-5...

A year and half ago, I moved West across Canada, met a few girls on my road trip and 'settled down' (briefly) for a job in Western Canada. I'm bored now.

I've contemplated road tripping the U.S. but think somewhere more exotic and less "Western" would be ideal.

I'm mostly debt free, am somewhat minimalist (gotten rid of most of my personal 'clutter'), I've got over $300k readily available to me, another $300k 'locked in' for about 10 years and I should be able to make some money in the internet world (I was making a $100k salary a few years ago in the business - just got 'bored' as I was tied down with a greedy western woman - now I have to pay her $2000/month in support while she sits on her fat lazy ass and bitches at her new husband). Oh, I've also got enough air miles to fly around the world a couple of times too.

40 year old male caucasion...
I look younger than I am...
currently dating a 25 y/o... (typically choose 28-33 though - I want 'relaxation' as opposed to drama with women)

Any suggestions on best places? I do want low cost of living, a reasonable population around me and interesting 'culture'. I do like warm and the water (avid scuba diver).

I'm not the greatest at 'game', although I seem to have done ok in the past few months. It's not all about the sex either... I want to make my journey (however long it turns out to be) about developing meaningful encounters as well.

Anyone with some great ideas for long term travel based on the above? I don't want to blow through my cash reserves in a year or two... I'd rather go, settle into a longer term routine, build up some online revenue generators and try the next place on my list a few months later (I'm assuming a typical visa lets me stay 3 months or so).

Thoughts would be appreciated... I'm quite tempted to give the boss my notice very soon...

You are a good candidate to go teach ESL. Otherwise, just live cheap off your assets somewhere. In your shoes, I, personally, would move to the Philippines.

Dude, if I were in your shoes I'd just research some places and GO. There's a lot of places where you can live off 300k for a long time. Hell, I don't even plan on having that much when I jump ship. Lots of guys on here have done it for much less. Read Roosh's book a Dead Bat in Paraguay, and look at the story of another member Neil Skywalker.

The only thing holding me back is the financial aspect, but no problem is unsolvable with enough desire, hard work, and balls.

You're in a much better position than most. I'd take advantage of it immediately.

Mcr
You are in a great spot in life. Seize the moment. I recommend the following:
1. go backpacking for 3 - 6 months. See the places you always wanted to. Your perspective will change and your next steps will be discovered during that trip.
2. I agree with baller's response - get the best ESL certification . This will take the edge off your expenses, give you location stability to hatch your other plots, and pipeline girls from your English tutoring. Location will be discovered in 1 above
3, learn a language that will be fun and will auger well for future travels ( Spanish , Portuguese, Japanese?)
4. See a financial advisor to invest that nest egg prudently - you could live off that in a small way. PM me if you need a referral
5. See a family lawyer and see how you can stop the bitch from taking $2k month from you. I am not a lawyer but have read that if you lose your job or become a barista your payments get adjusted downwards accordingly ( not the case if kids are involved)
6. Be sure to start your own thread and report on your adventures. Your fan club awaits your reports!

Bien viaje!

Mcr,

We are in a similar boat....I am 40....and after paying off my house and car
am fed up with the attitude of the girls. I live in Houston where the girls think
size 8 is the new 0. lol.

I am considering moving now because the age gap is getting too large to stay.

I see asia or latin america in both of our futures.

By the way, the stock market is going to get freaking hammered....keep that
cash in safe assets for the time being.

Wish you the best of luck.

Welcome and you have come to the right place.

Cut the bitch off and vanish, I am sure you could live well in South America or Eastern Europe. Once you get a taste of those places you won't want to come back to the western world.

There are many here who feel the same way, me I am just stacking my chips until the day comes.

I see you are in Canada, which part?

Just bounce around South East Asia for a few months and find a place you like, then think about longer term plans. Don't know if you're into Asian girls, but SEA offers the best combination of low cost, safety and reasonably good infrastructure. South America is not anywhere near and never will be IMO. Eastern Europe is also an option, but again, it's going to be more expensive and less convenient.

I have spend two weeks recently in South East Brazil,
Florianopolis area. I think the area of Santa Catarina State has some potential for a home base. I would recommend as one of the places to visit and see if this part of the world makes the right fit for you. There are four seasons in terms of climate but generally speaking it is warm.

Maybe try Cuba and/or Mexico for a few months. Then head to Mediterranean Europe or Eastern Europe in June.

If you absolutely need to get online, that's a deal breaker for Cuba. On the other hand, sometimes it can be good to unplug and slow down. Even just for a month to herald the new traveling phase you're about to begin.

In the end, the ideal place will need to match your own preferences and not other peoples'. So the best idea is just to travel at leisure and without a set plan. You only need to decide your first destination, pack a bag and go.

You need travel skills and an overview of living in different places before you can make an informed decision for the medium term.

mcr,

Why is she getting support from you (alimony?) if she re-married? That seems really egregious. Or do you mean child support?

Agreed...Canada must be fucked up. In the states alimony is basically non existent if NO child and even back in the day it ends when REMARRIED. In certain states maintenance might be required but usually it ends after 2 years. IF you lose your income of course it vanishes. Must be child support or maybe OP was ordered to pay some profit from his business because she contributed? That does happen!

If i was you, I WOULD INVEST THE 300K. Earn your way for the next 10 years..teach English, internet ,etc. Then you will have close to million in 10 years(index mutual funds),RETIRE..at 50.

You have 300k now and you'll get another 300k in 10 years?

Assuming you'll live until you're 80, you can move to Thailand/The Philippines/Indonesia/Vietnam, get a comfortable apartment near the beach, and spend the rest of your life banging 20 year old Asian chicks.

Just the interest on your 300k will cover your rent. You only need to worry about booze and condoms.

Fool around with some internet businesses, just to keep yourself sane. Maybe write a blog about it.

But I'm sure you already knew all this.

Just GO. And when you leave give a big fuck you to the fat bitch that's been freeloading off you.

mcr, the greatest benefit to you now is to just go.

"Start yesterday". You've got enough cashto paper over risks and mistakes.

Once you land, you'll understand how you can book 'better accomodation', see differences, then that will frame and define your preferences.

If it's a total fuck up, it's 4 weeks in the sun, and chalking up a lesson. Asia tends to have better outlets for cheap internet and accesible women.

Start up online, chalk up a notch count, see $7 a week come in to start up with.

You'll conquer some inhibitionns, then come back to this boards and let us know how you go.

But just go.

OP:

You're like a soldier who's already won, all the enemy are lying dead in the field, the women of his village are all waiting to fuck you because they have no choice, but you forgot how to enjoy life and are still standing there amidst all the bodies....

Go, soon, clean things up so any loose ends can be tied up and finished while overseas.

You have 4000 days left tip you have to use dick pills. Don't waste them living out a working class program when you have upper middle class resources.

I'm going to be a little negative here, but I hate doing so because I actually love hearing all the positive responses, but I'm in a similar position as you and can't help but feel you don't have enough cash without some revenue stream.

If I'm correct, you are looking to go, and you don't want to have to come back. You're not looking to just bang broads for a few months, you hope to find the one and not have to leave because you're running out of cash.

When your living expenses abroad are going to be at least $1,000/month combined with $2,000 to the cunt, that $300k will not last 8 years at best. The ESL is a good idea, but investing $300k in something safe is going to return what? 3.5% that is also taxed? That's not very much and your cash is now tied up.

I'm in the software business also, and I would love to have a telecommuting gig that would just pay me $50k/year, but where are they? You need a very in-demand skill set to pull that off along with some luck.

I'm not saying don't do it. I hope you do actually, because I wish I had the balls to do it right now and would very much like to hear about your adventures.

Remember that Indiana Jones movie (the Holy Grail one I think) where the bad guys were chasing him through the forest and he came to the edge of the cliff? The treasure map told him to take a leap of faith. When he took a step of the cliff his foot actually landed on a bridge that was unable to be seen because it was made of all the other rock in the gorge.

The message of that scene was...if you take a step towards life, it will often be right there to meet you.

Just constructive criticism.

That's fear. We all have (had) it. Too many of us let fear rule our lives.

This site is about how to overcome it so we can lead richer lives.

If he goes for 3 months, he'll blow $10-$15k. Sure, not nice but if he has his eyes on the game, focuesed on what he wants, what is out there and how to get it, he is closer to happiness.

He is not happy staying the same, so that can't remain.

It's best to blow $15k now, than live with regret later in life.

There's a huge ass e-commerce project manager thread on the lifestyle page.

An awesome read for guys like you, it should plant some seeds.

Get the hell out of here!

You do have many options, but at the very least take an immediate week or so trip to somewhere warm and relaxing to think things over.

More importantly, why do you still need to pay your ex 2k every month? What needs to happen for that to end?

Phase 2 of your plan should be moving all your assets overseas, somewhere with really strict banking laws (Switzerland), and then just cutting her off. $24k is a lot to be bleeding to a bitch you're no longer banging.
