10 things Dominicans won't do

I got yet another message from a chick saying she doesn't want to meet in the zona colonial in Santo Domingo. I think guys might have better luck meeting up with girls outside the colonial zone. Even if you are staying in the colonial zone, you can tell them you don't know the name of the area exactly. You can meet in a restaurant in, say, Gazcue, and then bounce to your hotel, using an excuse like I need to go in and grab more money or whatever. Have the driver pretend that he needs to take another fare, leaving your girl with no choice but to come up with you.

Okay, I want to start a list of things Dominicans do different than foreigners.

1. Guys don't wear shorts. I only have one pair of long pants. And since I realized that wearing shorts tends to peg you as a foreigner, I have been wearing and washing the long pants way too much.

2. Romance the women. I just think local game is a little more direct or beta, depending on the guy. Sprinkling on the romance might help more than it would in the US.

3. Wear nice shirts. They may have long pants, but on average they dress like high schoolers, college at best. Dress like a grown up will make you stand out.

4. Use Indirect game. Locals seem to be more direct or social circle. Indirect works very well, at least at hooking, though perhaps you have to escalate fairly rapidly or they will think you are weak. I am still tinkering with my indirect game.

Please add to this list. I will try to add more later.

5. Apparently the guys are "Caliente" it translates to horny, but I think it's more like passionate. I have heard from 3 girls that Dominicans say that gringos aren't "Caliente". I learned this cause after sex they say something like "Son mentiras, gringos son calientes!" [Image: wink.gif]

hahaha depends on Gringos ....
The temperaments vary ......most girls from DR experience gringos from US and Canada...and yes some of the guys a lame ...
I was in DR in 2012 and in Punta Cana area I observed that Russian brothers seem to take a stake in a business......

Eh?

I don't know. I kind of think all of the "trying not to look like a foreigner" or trying too hard to "stand out" is putting in way more work than needed in a country like the D.R. I rather let my rented condo and illusion of gringo wealth bring in the Dominican chicks.

But wouldn't that only bring in poor, low class Dominican chicks?

Dominicans are great... I want to teach them Mexican Spanish and see how they respond.

I'd say a Dominican chick wouldn't know what they hell you're talking about if you quote Nabokov, or be able to play along with a more philosophical vibe. Dominicans can be smart, but they're not philosophers.

Dominican guys won't cook or clean.

When a girl spend the night at my place, she will wake up, make the bed, serve me coffee, start cooking breakfast, serve me breakfast, clean the dishes, start cooking lunch etc. I feel a guilty for not helping, but when in the DR, i play by their rules and don't want to ruin the girls.

In some cases, that may be true (although I hang out at the universities in Santiago or that student spot near Cofresi beach in Puerto Plata) but I don't do the multi-week or multi-month stays like many RVF'ers. I visit for 4 or 5 days and I am out. On top of that, the chicks are banged around my golf schedule.
