Is Romania a better alternative to Colombia?

Just a few thoughts that popped into my head:
  • Romanian is a Romance language like Spanish, although its usefulness is mostly limited to Romania and Moldavia. English and Spanish are widely studied.
  • If you are from the European Union, Romania is easier to access. It's part of the EU, a future Schengen member and geographically and culturally closer than Colombia.
  • Traveling from Romania to nearby countries is also easier and cheaper.
  • Romanian winter is cold, Colombian winter is warm.
  • Reggaeton seems to be quite popular in Romania.
  • Romania is less poor and has less crime.
  • The job market isn't very good in either country but I imagine it to be easier to get a job in Romania.
  • Their flags have the same colors.
Which would be the better option for a long-term stay, especially if you are from the EU? I lean towards Romania.

Regarding a short-term visit, I am on the fence.

Could be an interesting "VS" Data Sheet.

Maybe Bucharest VS Medellin/Bogota.

Or Cluj-Napoca VS Cali.

Or Constanta VS Baranquilla/Cartagena.

Anyone want to take a stab at it, so to speak?

We really need more of these "VS" Data Sheets.

It's hard to beat the Latinas in Colombia. Real hard.

I've never been to either, but I wouldn't think of one as being a better alternative to the other. It seems like comparing apples to oranges.

I would think of Jakarta or Manila as an alternative to BKK, but I wouldn't think of Moscow as an alternative. Kiev would be an alternative to Moscow.

At least that's how I think of them.

I would like to see some more VS data sheets as G said though. When I finally spend some time in other SEA cities I'll drop some.

Pretty much every country in the world offers itself in a way that no other country does. Find a place you like, and go there. If you don't know where to go, pick one and just do it. Worst case scenario, you have a story to tell people when you make your way to a later destination.

I personally would take Colombia any day of the week, but this is not based on visits to both places. Latinoamerican culture is just more charming.

Growing up in Medellin, I still have no clue what you guys find cool in that city. The only reason I would go there is to visit friends and family. Romania for me, thank you very much!

Bust out a "VS" Data Sheet.

Well I am living here in Medellin for 4 months and come from two "Pussy paradises"!!!!! For the last 2 years I lived in Doha Qatar and born and raised in Toronto. So without any need to clarify, medellin for me is cool,,,,wins hands down by default!!!!

But Toronto does have Romanian girls and I have met a few who are super hot. I don't know the current hot spots to party or run into a higher concentration of them. However a bunch work in the landing strip or its sister club on king St west. Ask the ladies from this strip club where they party or where you can meet Romanian girls. That is if you are in Toronto.....

I personally think you cannot compare the two. But what they do share is both have their fair share of hot women.

Alot of my thoughts lean toward climate.

Winters are cold in EE. No two ways about that. I hate the cold. I can't see a Miami ace like G Manifesto shivering his nuts off over the long cold snows. Like him, I'm from Cali and I just don't do cold.

But one wonders about the quality between the women. Perhaps Bucharest, which is quite warm in summer, is worth a look for shorter stays though. This thread was excellent comparing SA to EE.

Romania for me. More petite girls without that fake boob nonsense. English is strong in Romania and girls are classier and more intellectually minded.

If I go back to South America again, it will primarily be for the weather/beach.

This and this just made me realize how different the forum seems in the last few years. It feels like we're in RVF 2.0, or RVF Reloaded.

Can't really explain it in words. Think Batman w/ Michael Keaton vs Batman w/ Christian Bale. Maybe just the shear numbers of hours members travel and are getting more embedded in the cultures? Experience? Or a certain maturity about it now, or we're settling in our fishbowls. Whatever it is, I like it.

And we should remember the Old Guy Differential Factor-- rate a country by on average how much younger a girl can you get with reasonable effort-- say 30 approaches? IT's getting worse around the world I believe.

Of course none of you will ever get old and have to face this...

Here's a preliminary stab: Basis with being fit, well-dressed, intermediate game but not rolling and no Fame:

USA-- Guy 60-Girl 44 = OGDF= 16

Philippines Guy 60- Girl 18 OGDF=42

Romania?

Columbia?

Ukraine? Before facewhore I nailed a Ukrainian 35 years younger, but I think that's probably down to 25 now, but the internet along with cheap flights dilutes market inefficiencies. Philippines is still so far away it will be hardest to provide cheap flights for.

Early 50s to late 50s as I posted over the last few years is a big and depressing jump since I can't quite afford full-timing in Poosy Paradises yet. I'm lucky I can still chase terrified 18 year olds down the street.

IN a few more months, I should be reporting from either Philippines, Columbia or Romania. Roosh's advocacy of Romania is convincing but I don't know if the OGDF is high enough.

IKE, don't play games with Colombia or Romania. Just go to the Philippines! That country fits you. Why make things hard on yourself?

I think you're right-- I was in Ukraine in the last year and the OGDF seems to be shrinking quickly. They all think they're getting the German YoungTallCool guy that visits....

IKE, you need to stop over thinking this stuff. You're going to end up in your 70's before you have your first kid.

I don't understand all the fuss about Catrinel Menghia (nor Madalina Ghenea). Catrinel Menghia is from Iasi just like me but I don't like her, I think she's somewhat ugly. At age 17 she was already famous in Romania, she was dating a Romanian singer and at that time I hooked up with one of her classmates from the Economic Highschool. Definitely I thought the girl I hooked up with to be much hotter than her (and mine became a model as well, she looks better in pics as well). I don't even think that Catrinel is representative for Iasi and Romania beauties.

This site is more representative of the hot women in Romanian showbiz
http://the-romanian-women.blogspot.ro/

As for Antonia (Iacobescu), the US fucked up, she grew up in Utah and Las Vegas from age 5 to 18 but even though it's not clear why she came back to Romania, it would appear the US deported her at age 18 because of some problems with her ID. Here she became a famous singer and I generally like her, actually her facebook page has more than 1.7 million likes . US's loss, Romania's win, way to go US deporting a hot, talented young woman.
As much hating as there is against US women on this forum, Antonia has a better attitude than most hot Romanian women and I assign that to the American upbringing. Here in Romania the women are hot but in the Moldova area their game is to try their best to keep you away from pussy (more so in Iasi than in Bucharest) and in both Iasi and Bucharest you can run into bitchy/ rude attitudes. In Iasi around 20% of the hot chicks (9+) have an attitude problem when picked up on the street and 100% of them are good at game, I was often surprised of how generalized their game is and how many techniques they have to keep you away from pussy, and that was even before the Internet era. In nightclubs even 6-7s that I wouldn't even spit on during daylight can have attitude problems, one of the reasons why I stopped clubbing in Iasi 8 years ago.

I can't go to Romania to do a X vs Y because of visas, they are not schengen yet. I am asking for a travel permit that allows me to get back if I go. Want me to try Bratislava or Budapest instead?
