An Unlikely Fight : Mexico against the Ukraine

Let's compare Mexico (tourist areas like Riviera Maya or Baja California or Oaxaca) and Ukraine ('tourist' places like Lviv, Kiev, Odessa, Crimea), when it comes to tourism and love tourism... So :

On the boxing ring, to my left, representing Ukraine : Iulia, 22 years old, blonde, thin, 1m75, a bit arrogant but gorgeous. To my right now, Maria Dolores, same age, brunette, a bit plump but sexy as hell, 1m67, seemingly quiet but ready to explode (latin blood!)... Who will win the fight??

Beauty of women :
we all know who is going to win this one. Only Russia, Croatia, Germany or France could beat the Ukraine, for women's beauty : so, 9,5 out of ten for Ukraine : Filled with very beautiful women. Usually quite tall and thin, well dressed, elegant, long legs... [Image: smile.gif]

Mexico : women talent is good. Varied Mexican beauties are to be found, often on the 'petite' side. Different skin colors available, all of them cute. Very smooth skins, and usually very beautiful smiles. Dark, warm and beautiful big eyes. Sometimes a bit plump, but, it's okey. Moderate-plump can be sexy. So, Mexico : 7 out of ten. [Image: smile.gif]

Safety of travel in and around :
Ukraine is very safe. You can take trains at night without any trouble. Very low street crime figures. Safe in and of course out of Kiev. No real hooliganism, unless you really look for trouble. So, Ukraine : 9.

Mexico : safer than you'd think, reading the media. Tourist spots like Cancun and Playa del Carmen are very safe indeed. Quite many police cars protecting urban peace. Unless you go to frontier zones and ask for trouble, you'll be okey! Still, one needs to be a bit more cautious at night, so, Mexico : 7,5.

Quality of life, especially for tourists :
Ukraine : Good quality of life if you speak Russian or Ukr. But most of you don't, probably?, so, trouble here... Rather poor and slow customer service. Glorious Summers but very cold Winters. People in Ukraine mind their own business, they won't bother you... So, Ukraine : 5 if you don't speak Russian, 8 if you speak Russian. Let's say a global 6.

Mexico : Very good quality of life. Excellent, almost perfect weather, except rare hurricanes of course. Hundreds of kilometers of splendid white sand beaches. Quiet, uncomplicated people. Welcoming foreigners, nice customer service, even if they might be a bit shy. Spanish is easy to learn, many travelers speak it already. So, Mexico : 9.

Cost of life :
Ukraine : expensive food unless you go to local markets with some Russian language skills. Expensive hotels. You can find cheap apartments but only if you speak Russian quite well and are not shy to ask at the bus or train station. Cheap transport by train. Expensive internal transport by plane. So : Ukraine 7,5 if you speak Russian, otherwise a global 6.

Mexico : cheap and tasty food. Quite cheap hostels. Easy to rent a place, for little money. Cheap good-quality bus and plane transport. Very good place to go on holiday with not very much money : so, Mexico : 9.

Cultural activities, sights:
Ukraine : a very old, History-rich country, cradle of Slavic history and pride. Castles, old cities sometimes fortified, very wide romantic rivers. Soviet impressive remnants. Fascinating Crimean diverse History. Outdoors activities in Summer like trekking in untouched Carpathians mountains. So, Ukraine : 9.

Mexico : fascinating place. 'Spanish' colonial cities. Time-preserved colonial villages. Incredible Maya ruins and pyramids, in their lush green surroundings. Mix of Colonial and Indian cultures, both of them are unforgettable. Lots of great outdoor activities, kite-surf on the beach, swimming in cenotes, etc... So, Mexico : 9,5.

Final result of this transcontinental fight:

Ukraine : 39,5 (43 if you speak Russian well enough).

Mexico : 42.

Mexico wins![Image: banana.gif] (unless you speak Russian quite well enough)

Thanks. To be more precise, deeper in analysis, I'd need to compare not two countries but two cities. I'll do someday a: Yalta - Playa del Carmen detailed fight.

Also, this analysis should consider the starting off point. If you live in EU region, Ukraine is a relatively quick trip. If in the US, Mexico is the winner. The women sound like they are very different (no personal experience with Mexicanas).

Germany and France beating Ukraine in terms of beauty?

What?!

"Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it. It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin. Real love involves real hatred: whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the sellers from temples has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth."

Not beating Ukraine, but almost equals.

Of course, if you are in the Kiev subway and look around, you will find much more very beautiful women than in the Paris subway.

But it is because gorgeous French women don't take very often the subway : most of them have money, or daddy's money, and so travel by car. Also they might be a bit afraid of some of Paris areas. So, they are not to be seen in the subway, contrarily to their Ukrainian sisters, who have no 'security issues' to face, living among Slavic people.

But just go to Stuttgart or Rennes, walk around, look at the women... You'll see that Western European women living in 'preserved cities' are almost at the Ukrainian level, in terms of beauty. (French women also, are not fat, and wear lighter make-up than their Ukrainian competitors...)

Honestly I would not agree with that at all, I would not compare german and french women with ukranian ones, but hey, it's your opinion, I accept it.

I'm a little confused here. Germany and France beating Ukraine in terms of beauty? Never been to any of those countries but the general consensus on the forum is Ukraine had way above average women and Germany has average women at best.

Then you say Mexico is a 7.5 on safety? Where is a 1 then? It's pretty evident that when compared to other parts of the world Mexico is one of the most dangerous places in earth for violent crime. If you look at the "top 50 most dangerous places in the world" thread, you'll see Mexico and Brazil dominate the list. While I get where you're coming from, that the danger isn't quite as bad as it's hyped up to be, there's no denying that it's more dangerous than most places on earth.

Then quality of life a 9 in Mexico? Come on, minimum wage is $5 a day. Yeah you said especially for tourists, but I still can't see it. I fucking love brazil, would even live there over the states if I had an opportunity, but I couldn't give the quality of life anything over a 6 or 7 because of all the people who live there with absolutely nothing. Yeah the food, women, and many other things are great, but you can't turn a blind eye to the corruption and poverty.

I totally maintain that Germany and France are full of very beautiful women. It has to do with genetics selection I think, them being top-destinations for the best of European or Middle-Eastern immigrants during centuries. Quality draws quality.

I understand and respect your doubts about safety in Mexico... but I was thinking of Cancun, Playa, Tulum, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Los Cabos, etc, touristic places far, far away from drugs-related violence. Also, violence and kidnapping do NOT concern foreigners. Only locals are at risk. But okay, maybe I should have given only a 7 to Mexico-touristic-zones on safety.

Matter of fact, I have been in Mexico for a while now, traveling a bit around, and never have seen any kind of violence. But of course, I don't go close to the US border, and mind my own business [Image: wink.gif]

Now where you are totally right, is on your take on 'Quality of life' being a bit screwed up by the fact that poverty exists. Yes, poverty of locals does bother me and makes me ill at ease,... at least I haven't seen people actually hungry in the streets here in (touristic or quite touristic) Mexico.

One thing : you can go to Brazil and go to places where there is NO poverty to be seen. Entire towns are wealthy, especially in the South of Brazil... if you love Brazil, you may go live to a South Brazil coastal town in say Santa Catalina, you won't have to see locals suffering... I think you know Northern Brazil, not South Brazil which is another country altogether, almost...

Yeah, but I think south brazil is kind of boring. I prefer São Paulo and north up to Espírito Santo. Floripa is beautiful, a great place to vacation, but I wouldn't want to live there. And there is still poverty in those areas. In Floripa you still have little favelas. It's much safer no doubt, but poverty still exists.

True. I also like a lot Floripa, for vacationing [Image: smile.gif] and, you can find other, much smaller coastal towns South of Floripa, with no poverty,... and with tons of Argentinian tourists on the beaches, in Summer...

As for huge Sao Paolo, well, I'd go live there only if I were very rich. You can live well and have serious fun in SP, but, at what price!?! costly city.

Yeah Floripa is great for vacationing. I started re-thinking it again as it's hard to get so many different varieties of beaches in one city.

1) Barra da Lagoa - Very cool laidback beach village
2) Praia Mole - Popular with surfers, thick high sand, great waves, the consensus favorite of locals
3) Praia Santinho - Easily with the most beautiful view in Floripa though with the coldest waters. Dreary feel.
4) Jurere Tradicional - Laidback nature oriented version of...
5) Jurere Internacional - Jetsetters beach with high season/special event nightlife...not to mention vacationers from other cities partying here will tend to be looser than back home [Image: smile.gif]

To live there would be boring after awhile with a small population of 700K in metro area where everybody kind of seems to know everybody. There is also an annoying big fish little pond mindset bc of the low population though I do have good female leads there. Taxis and logistics are expensive & too spread out too meaning daily interaction = meh.

Vitoria and Sao Paulo in the cards soon...

Yeah, Floripa has absolutely terrible logistics. The good nightlife is too expensive and the cheap nightlife isn't that great. Where I was staying was probably a 25-30 minute drive from downtown. I could just imagine how tough it would be to get a girl back, and then having to pay that taxi fair, it would have to be at least R$50. The beaches are great though. If I had to choose a spot in brazil it would be Vitoria, rio, Minas, and São Paulo in that order. At least places I've been in brazil.

Why not try the Southern Brazil small or not so small beach towns in January or February. Filled with young holidaying Brazilians and Argentinians [Image: smile.gif] if you are interested, I'm about to PM you the names of 2 places, 2 towns, that are gold mines in January! Ok, let's give one name here publicly : Balneario Camboriu. Argentine and Brazil flag guaranteed, in January [Image: banana.gif]

if you are a dork or a sissy, you won't fare well in Ukraine. EE is for real men, as we all know.

if you are a dork with some money, you can survive and even have fun on the Mexican touristy coastal towns. So am I told. There is hope for dorks (with money and at least a tiny bit of game)!
