For those not wanting to watch. Its classic Ukraine women training in martial arts whose first priority is finding a man, doing the household chores and 'showing their weakness when they are in a relationship with a man'. Totally the opposite of what I expected. I expected an American style of women kicking men in the balls and saying "we don't need men"

GREAT VIDEO!! I will be heading back to Kiev around new year and this is what women here in the US can't understand. Even the swedish feminist host says "its complicated" no its not bitch, its fucking simple:
men and women have different roles, you just can't accept yours

Ukranian women are the best white women on the planet

two scoops
two genders

That blonde chick is cute...doughy/flabby in the body with a belly (too many potatoes probably) but she has nice facial features. Imagine if she did a few months of Crossfit and lost 15 to 20.

Conclusion: Women doing chores = sexy

If only you knew how bad things really are.

The host is the tipical braindead feminist. Hear her final coment about how disappointed she was when realized the Asgarda were not the "Grrrrlll power" chick group she tought.

A lot of Ukrainian men have died throughout history from war efforts, women there probably understand that men make tough sacrifices. Hence the respect.

Yes I had the exact same thought when watching it. Shows the difference between a mainstream western vs. a more traditional mindset.

I now have motivation to start working out and practicing my martial arts again. Think I can turn them into a hard harem if I just show up and kick the shit out of all of them?

Heheh. Dunno but they did say they were looking for "strong warrior men." Motivation indeed.

The countryside looked quite nice, too. It said Carpathian Mtns. so this was close to the borders with Poland / Slovakia / Romania.

These women clearly need to stop training, get fat, and promote size acceptance like real enlightened feminists. Get with the twenty first century, Ukraine!"

I'm seriously considering giving Russian a shot. In Ukraine, does everyone speak it? Or is Ukrainian the more widely spoken. I only ask, because Russian is more useful as you can also speak it in, well, Russia!

Pretty much, but people in Western Ukraine (e.g., Lviv) will usually hate you if you speak to them in Russian. Better talk to them in English. People in Eastern Ukraine are essentially Russian, so you can definitely talk to them in Russian.

What about Kiev and Odessa? They're fairly central, as in from East to West. I know there's a lot of issues surrounding the Russian language being used in schools there or something, and how some politicians are asking for only Ukrainian to be used. I'm not an expert, I just know Vitali Klitschko is running for President next year and I think he's for more integration with the EU rather than Russia.

You should be able to speak Russian in Kiev and Odessa, since both cities were part of the Russian Empire. In contrast, Western Ukraine was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Here is an interesting blog post on Russian and Ukrainian languages:

Quote:Quote:

I have long wondered about my native tongue's mysterious homogeneity. 90% of the time it's completely impossible to tell a Russian's home town by his speech. Siberians talk exactly like St. Petersburgers who talk exactly like Moscovites, etc. There are two very provincial non-standard accents, but they're dying. This is pretty bizarre. Of all the large European languages Polish comes closest to this level of homogeneity, but unlike Russia Poland is a relatively small, compact country.

How did this situation come about? I've had a chance to ask a couple of professional linguists this question and they didn't have a clue. Some will tell you that this homogeneity was created by the strictness of the Soviet educational system, but they're most likely wrong. Early Communism had a much harsher impact on Ukraine than on Russia and Ukrainian is as heterogeneous linguistically as Russian is homogeneous. In fact a large part of Ukraine forms a dialect continuum from Russian to Polish with pronunciation and vocabulary typically changing every few miles as you go from east to west and from south to north.
