Man survives 12 hours lost at sea

Dude fell out of his boat 40 miles off the coast without a life jacket, but with some special boots and the mindset that he would live.

‘‘I was like, ‘There’s no way I'm dying this way.’ I was like, ‘This is how I gotta go?’ No way,’’ Aldridge said. ‘‘So I just put my head to thinking survival mode and I wasn’t dying that way. Dying wasn’t an option.’’

Just think if this was a woman in this situation. She wouldn't be talking to the news because iPhones don't make good floatation devices.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Men survive. Women exist.

Big deal. This guy, Steven Callahan, survived 76 days lost at sea. He wrote a book and the Discovery Channel did an episode of "I Shouldn't Be Alive" about him. One of the most amazing stories I've ever heard.

Devils advocate: A woman would always follow the rules and wear a life jacket and would not have had to invent her own flotation device from her rubber boots.

Tuth´s example is a whole other beast..

Ya, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the following:

(1) A typical woman would not have survived even 12 hrs.
(2) The guy was dumb for not wearing his life preserver.
(3) 12 hrs fails to document the amazing capability that man (not woman) has to push through and survive.

I'm the King of Beijing!
