Can someone explain to me how Kickstarter is not a scam? Why does the guy need to raise money to write a book? There's a pretty well-established formula for writing and selling a book: first you write it, then you sell it. This is even easier these days with e-books and self-publishing.
But this guy is basically selling the book before he writes it. On top of that, as far as I can tell he says 50% of the book is just shit he's already posted on reddit. What the fuck?
He's raised $16k for this so far. This would be like Roosh making a Kickstarter asking for donations for publishing his "Best of Roosh" e-book.
Honestly this smells like shit. I have no idea who this guy is, but he strikes me as a bullshit artist: here's a guy who's been in the game since only 2010, whose only claim to fame is posting on reddit and who's selling a book he hasn't even written. Sounds like just another "internet game guru" bullshitter to me.

Shady cat.
How to write a book:
1. Turn on a computer
2. Write it
3. Market it

What guys like this understand and accept is that most dudes are tricks and simps, so just like girls can hustle those dudes, so can guys by giving them "tips" on how to "get" said girls.
Hustle hard Ken.

The vast majority of the pledges are essentially prepurchasing the book.
Kickstarter is good for not only funding an enterprise but also testing the waters.

It's a great publicity stunt. He always raised $16,000 and sold several hundred copies of his book.
Now we're talking about it.
Others are talking about it.
More will be talking about it.
If it was a deliberate student, all I can say it: "Well played, sir."

He also sold 10 skype consults at $100 per session.
What is the market rate for those sorts of consults?

I'm sure you could easily get 100 bucks per session if you got your name out there.
I don't use reddit so I don't know what it's all about, but it seems to me that whatever reddit he posts on is sort of like the mASF message boards back in the day. The guy made his name using reddit as a medium, gained a large following, and is benefiting off of that. Successful hustle. I don't understand the hate. Not much different than writing a blog or uploading youtube videos to sell seminars or books, like most guys in the pua industry are doing these days. He just used one of the most visited websites in the world to advertise his shit, whether he did it intentionally from the start or decided that he could make some money off of it after doing it for a while is unknown but I don't care.
People feel they are getting value by donating to his kickstarter, so both parties benefit. Guys on here should be inspired by this sort of entrepreneurial ingenuity, not writing it off as some sort of scam.

Sounds like some people are jealous.
Shit, most of us here have probably written a book's worth of pickup advice, but the market on this forum is so saturated, who'd buy Random Pickup Guide X from Forum Member Y?
Maybe we should all start branching out, find markets that aren't full of pickup vets, and start slinging ebooks at them. POF forums, anyone?

I'd say that the guy outsmarted all of us. He just made 16K and counting.
He's making bank in a market that is already totally played out since 2005/2006 by making it sound really hard to publish a book while in fact you can do it for free.
Book - Around the World in 80 Girls - The Epic 3 Year Trip of a Backpacking Casanova
My new book Famles - Fables and Fairytales for Men is out now on Amazon.

This market isn't saturated it's more along the lines of barely even touched. I remember a friend who had a online porn site said it was saturated in 1995...
