A project girl is a girl that would be really attractive if she improved a few simple things about herself.
Example:
1. A cool girl with a pretty face but 20 pounds overweight.
2. A pretty girl with no social skills. Bookworm type.
3. A girl with no sense of style. Clueless about clothes, hair and make-up.
Have any of you taken on a project girl as an LTR? Were you able to clean her up and make her cool or attractive? Is it worth the effort?

Only works for the latter two... can't deal with the first at all. The latter two show a lack of knowledge - that can be fixed. The first shows a lack of self-care, a lack of the basic responsibility to take care of her own body. It shows laziness. Can be fixed, but too much effort. Brought it up in another thread, but there's different types of issues with a girl. Some are inherent to her personality - they can't necessarily be fixed. Others are just a lack of knowledge, or a flaw that she was never privy to being able to change.
Inherent flaws (laziness is the biggest one) are out of the question; the rest are on the table. May play a part in a decision, but they fall secondary to the more major concerns.

I'd say it depends on the market. If you are in a town/city where the talent is quite average, and you know you can make her something better than that without putting so much effort and time, I'd say go for it. Of course it depends on several other things, but otherwise, I think it's a waste of time.

Me too , as soon as I read the tittle I thought of this verse from Jay Z (Girls, girls, girls) :
"Got a project chick, that plays her part
And if it goes down y'all that's my heart
Baby girl so thorough she been with me from the start
Hid my drugs from the NARCs, hid my guns by the parts"
This was the Trope Namer and the Trope Codifier (with Lil Wayne, no less):
"Give me a project bitch
Give me a hoodrat chick
One that don't give a fuck
An say she took that dick"

I call these girls with 'potential.' I hang with them for a while, but always leave before I can see them through to their potential. A few weeks ago I stumbled across a picture of a chick I used to date who I thought of as this way. If she lost a little bit of weight, she'd be fine. While we dated, she participated in P90X and CrossFit and sure enough, that weight went away. Too bad I wasn't around to see that happen.

Did #1 once and the result was nice, but it was hardly worth the effort. Not so much because of the time involved, but because of all the resistance. It really depends on her, not on you. If you feel like you're raping the girl instead of just nudging her in the right direction, it becomes a chore, and it all goes downhill from there.

Yes to #1 and #3. Would say I made a change in the stylistically challenged girl, but if a girl is overweight, I'm not goin to alter my limited time for my own workout to be her life inspiration coach. These girls are failing at the daily grind, and in my experience can make the change, but almost always change back.

In my experience, the hardest thing to change about a girl is her weight. If she's been fat her whole life, not only is that her reality and not only is her body used to that weight, but she's also likely got bad genes and she'll probably pass on the fat genes to her kids.
Girls who lack a bit of social savvy or makeup savvy can definitely be encouraged to get more attractive and its not seen as controlling to do so, unlike helping your fat cow girlfriend lose weight.

I generally wouldn't try to change anyone. Really people are offended by outside attempts to change them, and become resistant. If she's fat, she's heard about it her whole life and hasn't taken action. Losing weight and getting healthy is something that really has to come from within.
I wouldn't care if she was bad at makeup or had poor social skills though. We could just bone at my place without me prancing her around in public. Then you have more free time to meet other girls. Win-win.

I love these girls. I look for 7s and 7.5's who need a little "polishing".
Sometimes, its just a little confidence, sometimes, its a fashion upgrade, sometimes, its a better diet, sometimes they just need to exercise a little. Sometimes, its a combination of these things.
I tell them that they are a "flower in bloom". I teach them how to be more beautiful.
If you can help a 7 become an 8, they are usually very thankful and loyal to you.
I also like the small town girls who come to the big city and they are unaware of their own value. Sometimes, young pretty girls come into the big city and they think they are a 6 or 7 when really they are an 8. They underestimate themselves and/or have low self esteem.
These girls are fun to work with because they assume that the are lower value then you. Thats a good frame to work from.

Nerdy girls are easy to clean up. I had a Ph.D student who fit the nerdy socialy awkward type. Honestly, they're the best because any type of social confidence on your part is something she envies and wants dearly on her part. Dressing better is super easy too. Most girls in america know how to dress for attractiveness. The key is whether or not they take the time to bother.
Not all of them are like this. If you're into MBTI and the like, these girls fall under the NT spectrum. Very intelligent in their fields of expertise.
