This is simply beyond ridiculous. Some guys in the US are paying "surrogates" who are nothing more than high paid hookers to help them psychologically get intimate. And these "professional helpers" are not cheap at anywhere between 8-10K! Wow!

When you think you've seen it all in the US, this shows up. Wow is all I can say. Is it really that bad in the US to be a man that one gets to become a middle aged virgin who has to use a "surrogate" to help him get his feel of emotional intimacy? Why don't these men save themselves that money and hop on a plane to really anywhere outside of the US where they could get access to real women for a fraction of these surrogates and all? It doesn't make sense at all.

I don't think going to a foreign country would help them, because women aren't the problem here. It's the guy. They grew up with paralyzing shyness of asserting themselves with women. Okay, so one of these guys goes to Colombia and hits a nightclub. Now what? He's not going to approach any women. I mean for Christ sake the guy was afraid for a naked woman to even see his erection. These guys DO need therapy. Sounds pathetic, but you have to look at it like this, if these guys are able to cure themselves of love shyness by going to a surrogate, it would be the best $10k they ever spent. Many people spend easily that much just remodeling their kitchen.

Dan Savage mentioned that health insurance covers it, so those numbers may be not what they actually pay.
