Anyone do this or know a friend of a friend?

Curious about the pre-requisites. Can anybody do it right out of highschool?

I really don't think you would need any prerequisites in order to wash some windows except maybe a health and safety introduction to working at altitude when you are planning on washing skyscrapers.

Anyways, what is your plan? Washing topless and hoping that hot girls are inside?

Started a business a while back. No barrier to entry, window washers pride themselves on the technique and it takes a while to become good at it. youre catering to the high class with money to throw away at the idea of "perfect windows." Im a little biased but I think the majority of the people in the business are shady... cons and losers who want to get paid 12-15/hr despite being cons and losers.

Dont believe me? Put an ad on criagslist saying you want to hire a window washer for your business and see who responds. The ones with experience have neck tattoos, criminal histories and are generally unemployable. They need to work for someone instead of being self employed because no woman who lives in a $300k+ home and is willing to drop $200+ on clean windows is going to let someone with neck tattoos into her home and her private bedrooms, etc. This is doubly so with businesses where the majority of your recurring income comes from. In general, youre better off spending your time picking up other skills such as learning automotive repair or something along those lines. Every1 has cars not just those with too much $$$.

Sorry to be cynical, I just know there are lots of better opportunities so wouldnt recommend it to anyone. If you pm me I can give you an intro to "window cleaning" cd i bought. its sommewhat useful.

We used to get a kick out of watching the window cleaners hanging 30 stories up from inside my office. Dudes have huge balls. And were all Hispanic.

I thought you shouldn't talk like that in U.S culture? lol

trust me, I talk like that too.
Although the person you are telling this doesn't have any tattoos and agrees with you, he will still get offended.

btw, they make at least $30~50 an hour since they get paid by the window size. I paid this guy 10 bucks to clean the window for my store front. it took him maybe 15 minutes at the max. that's like $40 an hour. Obviously, the hard part is getting a steady work.

lol no but if I do this I'll use to to score fearless alpha points for hanging off skyscrapers 5 days a week

I looked around and they prefer at least a year of experience. But how the hell do you get experience if every company wants you to have experience already?

Also Bossun chair certification requires a few days of courses

The guys who dangle thirty floors up and play spider-man are different breeds altogether. A lot of them are unionized and take great pride in what they do. They're not happy unless they are 200 feet off the ground.

I'm thinking of being one of those guys.
It's less dangerous than cell phone tower climbing. I don't have a fear of heights so this could be quite fun.
