i think the problem was you gave her vague direction. I've had more success with specific things like "heel and a dress" b/c it takes the indecision out of the equation for them.

Saying "something sexy" leaves a lot of room for interpretation and can create the feeling she is about to be judged based on her choice.

I've been caught by plenty of security guards and police either in the act or just after/before and it's been a bummer but it's never been a huge deal.
