Kawhi Leonard is a beast when he is on.. I've questioned his mental state in the past but when hes healthy and he is feeling himself its arguable that he is one of the best players in the NBA

I think Kawhi's the best player in the league. Remember that the dude was fucking up the warriors single handed before zaza hurt him. He's a top 5 offensive player and a top 5 defensive player. I don't think anyone else can say that. Steph is a bottom tier defensive player, KD is ok to above average on D, Lebron doesn't play D anymore, Giannis maybe?

Giannis and Embiid can make that claim, which is why both will finish top 5 and maybe top 3 in the MVP vote. But I agree -- he has two top three MVP finishes before this year and is destroyer on offense and defense.

Leonard is a top 3 guy and on any given night can be best in the league. My top 3 in no order are Leonard, Durant, and Greek Freak.

That game went about as I expected. My only reasons for optimism are that the Sixers did claw back a couple times despite the Raps torrid shooting. They got it to within 1 in the 2nd and got close at the start of the third. This while enduring a terrible Embiid game.

Our bench is a weak spot and once out starters got out Reddick and Embiid got it going. If we can get OG back then if we stagger Lowry into the bench he can get some buckets and offer good D.

Our issue is our bench can produce points. Only Fred Van Fleet and Sikiam can produce thier own shot (Norman Powell to an extent) which leaves us easy to get bent over for runs if our bench goes cold shooting.

Sixers may try Simmons on Leanord next game as his length and speed can keep up with Leanoard. This can leave him.ooen to foul trouble which is what Kahwai will likely try and push on him so he has to sit early and often.

In my original post on the series, I also said I want to see Simmons on Leonard. Let Leonard try to manhandle a bigger guy. He might do it anyway, but Brown needs to try it. The Raps bench may be a weak spot, but did you see who the first 4 guys off the bench are for the Sixers: Ennis, Boban, Kormaz, and Bolden -- and the first three were on the court at the same time. That is a travesty.

Sixers have learned the thier bench is trash though and stagger minutes among the starters.

Toronto bench was complete trash yesterday and, aside from the completed garbage shooting was the reason we couldn't come back to win. We made the adjustments at halftime and won both 3rd and 4th quarters but Coach Nurse left in the bench in too long because if be would hs driven the starters more runway they would have flown off and clawed out of the hole.

Sixers did great in confusing the Raptors with new looms first half. But, considering how bad we shot, it should the e been there close. Sixers got the win but with all that flipped in their favour they should have routed.

I saw the whole controversy of the new rule that says the defender has to give the shooter space to land, not plant their feet underneath the shooter so he comes down on their foot and twists an ankle.

Saw highlights in which the Warrior defenders tried to break this rule and get away with it. Then saw highlights in which Harden kicked his legs out at the defender to make it appear like the rule was being broken when it wasn't.

Then saw a bunch of players spending their time looking at the refs in disbelief either for calls or non calls.

So the situation is this. Players were trying to hurt their opponents instead of defending them by pretending that their feet accidentally ended up under a jump shooter trying to land. So a new rule had to be made, one which is hard to call, and immediately, in response to a rule that was designed to cut back on willful cheating and unsportsmanlike behavior, players like Harden take advantage of the situation by doing their own cheating to draw a foul, and only end up making the foul even harder to call.

I started watching the game last night, saw some of the players already paying less attention to the game and more attention to making sour faces and the ref and thought, fuck these guys, and turned it off.

I want both teams to lose.

Fuck James Harden.

He has broken the officiating of the NBA. He gets passed the ball, plants his feet, takes a step back with his left foot, takes a step back with his right foot, plants his feet again, then jumps forward to take a shot.

If the officials aren't going to call the travel, it is an impossible shot to guard.

If the defender moves forward while Harden moves backwards, then there will be contact when Harden jumps forward. Again, this ought to often be called an offensive foul but is always called a foul on the defender after the contact.

If the defender doesn't move forward when Harden travels backwards, then Harden gets an open look.

Harden has figured out that the officials do not call travels and they do not call offensive fouls on jump shots where the shooter initiates the contact.

Fuck Houston fans whining that they aren't getting the same calls in the playoffs. Yeah the referees are swallowing their whistle and not giving Harden cheap trips to the line, but they are still letting him travel and offensive foul freely.

Houstons brand of basketball is unwatchable. I Am bored with Golden State in the finals, but Houston is somehow worse.

Basketball is fun but the rules are inherently too subjective to take it seriously as a sport. It´s more like figure skating than a true athletic test. No one knows what a foul is. No one knows what traveling is. Every ref has their own take on these poorly designed rules that they apply differently to every player and every situation.

This only applies to the NBA. Watch Euro-basketball and you'll see the difference.

Yea I’m really confused as to what constitutes a foul anymore. Or a travel. They need to get this shit sorted out in the off-season because it’s starting to become unwatchable. I’m so pissed I just might begin watching baseball.

I know they are kinda overrated, but still fun to watch.

The raptors really folded in the 4th Quarter, I was hoping to see a hearty comeback or rally, even if they weren't going to pull it off.

They seemed to be rattled like the old raps.

Kyle Lowry has to improve his field goal %, along with just about everyone else on the floor.

Good win for the 6ers

They got pretty much no production from anyone other than Kawhi, and Siakam's 20 were really weak. He's got to make Embiid pay for sagging off of him so much behind the 3 pt line.

If the bench doesn't step up in the next game I think Nurse has to consider going with Lin, Meeks, or McCaw since the other guys are stinking it up. I don't even know what Ibaka is doing.

Next game is potentially the biggest game in Raptors franchise history so far. Lose this one and you probably lose the series, meaning you lose Kawhi (best player in franchise history) and the front office has to blow it all up. It's been a good run since they got rid of Rudy Gay but at least one damn finals appearance would have been nice. The rest of this series will show us what these raps are made of.

This years playoffs have got to have Warriors fans seriously concerned for their team after Durants exit this off season. Curry reminding everyone how weak minded he is bricking dunks in overtime and all.

NBA commissioner wants more female refs:

"It's an area, frankly, where I've acknowledged that I'm not sure how it was that it remained so male-dominated for so long. Because it's an area of the game where physically, certainly, there's no benefit to being a man, as opposed to a woman, when it comes to refereeing," Silver said.

The goal is: Going forward, it should be roughly 50-50 of new officials entering in the league. Same for coaches, by the way. We have a program, too. There's no reason why women shouldn't be coaching men's basketball."

Don't women have worse depth perception. Pretty crucial to a referee job.

Good luck having a grown man is going to listen to a woman ref. It'll be even worse with women coaches. What could she really teach him? It's like having Curry teaching MJ how to dunk but even worse.

This commissioner is such a fag.

Not like it's super common in the NBA but what happens when you have players get into and a 140-150lb woman is supposed to separate 300lb men that are like a foot taller than her.
