I want to learn about running a salon. I know nothing about hair and I don't want to do anything with it. (just business side)

I'd like to know how booth rentals work and commission systems work.

I am looking up 'how to open a salon' thing on internet but I thought it would be more useful to hear from someone who's already in the business

I was going to start a thread on this at some point. I'm also seeking information not only about beauty salons, but also barber shops and how the two businesses differ and which may be better. I believe there has been little information posted on those types of businesses thus far.
