Anyone have any sheets on this place?
Good hotel or a night or two?
Bars?
Restaurants?
Clubs?
What's the scene like?

I can't comment much on Delray G but I suggest you look at Boca which is dirt close and more your scene I'd bet.
I've posted up some info on it before but pm me if you've got any specific questions

Atlantic Blvd, East of Swinton all the way to the ocean (half mile walk) is where it's at. Parking sucks. Plenty of places to check out, bars and restaurants aplenty.
Cool.
Can you name some names?

As for hotels, the Marriot at the corner of A1A and Atlantic is good and occasionally there are deals to be had.

The bars/restaurants come and go with remarkable speed.
Is there anything "can't miss" or world class?

No, it's a beachside community. Nothing too high-end. It's kind of like an orange county town in California. A little more low key than the major metros in the area, but still lots of fun. Boston's on the beach is a good bar though (Newly remodeled as well). Delray was rated as the most fun small city in the U.S. a while back.

This is a good observation. As for the Marriot, I've stayed there, it's good.

I went out in Delray several years ago. There were a bunch of small bars on Atlantic Avenue, including one decently sized night club. Forgot the name but what was cool was that it was partly outdoors. I remember meeting a fair number of tourists from Europe, Canada and elsewhere.
I remember a place called Dada on the west side of the nightlife area. It's a house converted into a bar/lounge/restaurant.
When everything closes at 2 am, you can head west (by car) to a bar called "The Ugly Mug". It's sort of a biker bar but I found normal people there too. It's open until 5 am I think.
I was passing through Delray a few months ago and I saw next to Boston's there's a new place called the Sandbar which was pretty busy during the day. But most of the nightlife will be on Atlantic Avenue near the train tracks (east of Swinton).
I enjoyed Delray but if it's not enough for you, 45 minutes north of Delray you have Palm Beach, and 45 minutes south you have Ft Lauderdale.

I stayed here once. It's nice enough, on the beach. It's maybe a 30 minute walk to Atlantic Avenue's main nightlife area. Just a few mins by car.

Sounds about right.
I bought my first car from a Volvo dealership in Delray Beach back in 2004 - I remember thinking that place was lame.

gmanifesto, yeah, there are lots of old retired people in Delray and a lot of bars cater to this older crowd. That said, local young girls in Delray can be pretty hot, if you can find a bar or club that caters to a younger crowd.
I forgot to tell you, but a car is highly recommended -- for basically any city in Florida. Even though you can walk around Atlantic Ave, having a car is the way to go.

It's changed a lot since then. It's still a small town, but I wouldn't use the word lame to describe Delray.

I meet fly girls from all over the world in Miami - no need to leave this city for that town...
yeah, I'm a bit biased because I'm a man that has spent his whole life in either LA or Miami. It couldn't possibly be as bad as I recall it to be, but that is something I will primarily attribute to the fact that now, at this point in my life, I refuse to have a bad time anywhere.
Damn, when I get back from my summer travels, I now realise I should fix up my streetcars and do some recon on the towns outside Miami.
