Problem is that you get information without any practical use. Lets say you get 15% possibility of eye cancer, what are you going to do about it?

I would suggesting ordering a genetic test as quickly as possible.
FDA and federal regulators are moving into restrict or ban this type of consumer genetic testing. Basically, government scientists and bureaucrats don't trust us to be able to handle the knowledge of having increased predispositions to certain diseases. It's paternalism of the worst sort. In some states like New York and Maryland it's already illegal!
Big government says - NO you do not have the right to know about your own DNA.
Here's a good article that discusses the issue:

Scott Locklin wrote an article on using 23andme to find out who his ancestors were:

I'm a bit wary of giving my genetic information to a company or individual, and I don't know what/how I would react if I found out I have a disposition of obtaining a fatal disease in the future.
But the thing intrigues me strongly, finding out about my ancestry.

My girl did it. It gives ok results if you're of northern European descent, otherwise it's not worth it. They didn't sample enough populations outside of northern Europe to give good results for anyone else. Maybe Ashkenazim too but that's it.
I've got the dick so I make the rules.
