I'd organize a think tank and set off on a mission to change the world as we know it.

Modelling agency sounds great.but how do they make money? One way could be to sell them for advertising companies to use.

But would it make money?

What would you do if you won the lottery

ha ha, guys, I won a big prize in the New Zealand national lottery last year. My story even got into an NZ newspaper.

I flew down from Auckland to Wellington where the lottery commission building was to collect the cheque in person. Then I flew off to Europe to take in France (which I hadn't been to before). I spent around 2 months in Europe living like a king, all up I spent about 34k ($34 434 to be exact).

Of course, the thing to do if you win is to travel as much as possible and bang as many hotties as you can before the cash runs out [Image: icon_razz.gif]

Let me just say that the sensation of #winning is fantastic, a huge dollop of pure pleasure to the brain. You will be grinning for two weeks at least, and even now, months later, the magic has not entirely worn off.

No, I disagree, and you can quote me on this:

‘The one true alpha move is #winning

Think about it. You won the lottery, you get maximum reward for minimim effort.

I can tell you, I sometimes talked about my lottery win in the hostels to see what peoples' reaction would be; when I pulled the pay certificate to show them (lottery wins are tax free in NZ), the girls seemed to go crazy. Remember, 'the one true alpha move is #winning'.

How much did you actually win?

Oh it wasn't a great amount (it was in the thousands rather than the millions). But it was still great. One interesting point is that I found it really hard to keep quiet even that more modest amount. I think you'd find it hard to stop the news from leaking if you won the big one.

The problem is I'm not fully anonymous on this board, so that's why my posts have stayed a bit cautious. I hope for more crazy adventures in Europe and I might write it all up at some point - do a 'tell all', the lottery win, everything, do an e-book like Neil Skywalker or Naughty Nomad. But I need to accumulate more crazy experiences first...[Image: biggrin.gif]

haha Dont worry. Dont think people on this website is gonna come rob you...
What experiences are you thinking of?
How do you make friends on the trip if you not staying in hostels? Thats actually the reason why i stayed in hostels.

I stayed in some hostels. Yeah, I actually like hostels (the good ones anyway). I mean some are shitholes, but if you stick to the top-rated hostels, they're actually good for meeting people yeah, at least you will have more crazy stories from staying in hostels.

If I won the lottery what I'd do, would be to

a) hire a real estate lawyer, and hire the real estate managerment companies he recommends for me
b) Use those resources pooled in a) to buy a few apartment complexes to provide constant income from rent
c) Hire people to keep buying more apartment complexes with huge positive cash flows
d) Go to Japan for 3 months every year (april - july)
e) go to sweeden, germany, and EE from August till October
f) go to Australia from November till February, while buying businesses, real estate, and meeting women
g) Take a month long vacation in thailand in March.

I would be doing this every year.

I'd buy a RR ghost and a couple penthouses in a few A-tier cities of my choosing.

Put a nice big chunk into real estate.

After that, it's hookers and blow all the way down, naturally.

Elbayarde likes to say that all these games are just a statistical guess, i completely agree.

Ever heard of the maths professor with a Phd specialising in statistics, who won the lottery 4 times?

Now, this wasnt luck, she was just super smart.

They do this thing over here called the Euromillions, its played by UK, Rep. of Ireland and a host of other Euro countries too. Anyway, the jackpot is regularly over £100M.

I think the largest win was £161,653,000, or $255,039 938. That's a simply astronomical to win, when you had comparatively nothing before. You're already much richer, in a day, than many very successful athletes, musicians etc.

I think that amount would be too much too soon. I don't know what I'd do, probably be sick with shock!

It would completely alter your relationships with friends etc. I mean, if it was offered to me tomorrow, don't get me wrong, I'd say yes straight away, but there would be a dark side to it I'm sure.

Plus, in the UK, you pay 0% tax on winnings.

I find it amusing how the Daily Mail is almost our go-to newspaper on RVF. It's pretty loathed in the UK as a right-wing hate rag, which is ironically why I started to look it up! That said, I can understand why some here would find it objectionable, as it's famous for blaming immigrants for everything ranging from disease to global warming.

Actually, I don't think 5 million usd is gonna significantly improve someone's chances with women in paris. It might do abit more if you are French.

Wrong. To a national lottery winner, all doors are open. Do you really think any hot French girls would refuse the national lottery winner of New Zealand? [Image: biggrin.gif]

The Powerball is up to 1.3 Billion dollars... That buys a lot of cocaine and hookers

When I win I'm gonna buy the Playboy Mansion... its on the market for 200 million. I figure I would have a good 5 years of living the dream before I file for bankruptcy.

After reading a lot of reddit,

Chill
Get team
Change legal name to something common like Michael Washington. Change all my accounts.

Wait until the hype dies down.
Hire a makeup/special effects artist, and entirely change my appearance. Like from Method Man to Eminem.

Then accept the money.

Don't want friends or family to know i have that level of bread. They've already seen me suited up and pushing a foreign. As far as they would know, nothing has changed.

2. set up the proper investments
3. pay off my debt
4. pare down all of my possessions to the bare minimum
5. travel the world
6. eventually homestead in a state with no state income tax, and buy a building in NYC, preferably one with a store on the 1st floor - prolly sell stuff myself, a couple of renters for the middle floors, and my unit on the top floor with roof access.

That's it.
