Hi guys!!
I want to get into internet marketing but I can't find a resource that helps me do it. I mean, I browsed through WF and the only thing I see is WSO all promising to make you rich quick (I'm not that naive. I know it takes time, effort and discipline.)
I'm looking for someone who can show me the basics. I'm not asking anyone to give out your secrets. I know it took you time and effort and I don't want to take advantage.
Anyone care to help me?
The Basics for most WSO type joints
1. Pick a general niche
2. Find a "seed" keyword
3. Using a keyword tool (there are some free ones and many paid ones), Find keywords/key phrases that have a certain level of monthly traffic, and make a list
4. investigate each individual keyword/phrase on that list by looking @ the top ten results.
5. figure out if you can be more informative than the top 10 results for your keyword, outrank them
6. buy a domain name
7. buy hosting
8. install word press, and install a wordpress theme that's good for IM
9. install the right word press plugs ins
10. write 10-20 articles of 500-1000 words each about your main keyword, and it's affiliated key word phrases. (or pay someone on fiverr, textbroker, or some other service to write the articles for you)
11. Optimize your anchor text and keyword density, but don't stuff it
12. post each article every 2-3 days on your blog
13. find other places online where you can post a link to your blog, and your specific articles. Also make contact with people in your niche, and see if you can get a link back, or do a guest post. Also amass a facebook and twitter following, and FB/Tweet everytime you make a new post.
14. analyze your traffic, analyze your search engine rank, and then adjust
Then the money starts rolling in!
You can monetize your traffic by
- clickbank/comission junction products that relate to your keyword - which can be up to 75% commission
- amazon products that relate to your key word - 6-10% commission on any amazon purchase for 24 hours
- google adsense to run ads on your website, and the ads are related to your key word - 50 cents to 9+ dollars per click
- offering your own e-book, video course, seminar, or membership site - sky's the limit
Next level of WF stuff (building an email subscriber list)
1. put a content locker on your website, so that everyone that finds your website via google, is almost forced to give you their email address, before they can read what they googled for.
2. provide good content on your newsletter
3. offer them your products on your newsletter, or your ads
4. get other people in your niche to run ads on your list, and get paid for advertising.
Final Level of WF
1. build up a rep with WF'ers
or
2. do a joint venture with established WF'ers
3. come up with a Make Money Online Product
4. have your joint venture WF'ers give great testimonials on your WSO offer, pushing it to higher visibility on WF and also pushing it on their own lists and websites
5. cash out
That's pretty much the guts of the typical Internet Marketing biz.
- find a niche
- find key words
- write "good" content - good for humans and good for search engines
- get backlinks
- monetize your audience with other people's offers, or your own.
As for the specifics of the 1st 14 basic steps, there are youtube tutorials for everything.
- how to point the exact match domain name that you got from Namecheap to your hosting @ Bluehost,
- how to use FTPZilla to install extra themes for your sites,
- what plug ins to you, how to set them up,
- how to do the keyword research,
- how to do the competitive intelligence
- how to pick the right clickbank, amazon, commission junction products
- how to set up the pay pal...
It's pretty much all there on you tube via simple searches.
Along the way, you'll learn
- some basic html/java.css,
- how to set up a wordpress site after install (what themes, what plug ins)
- how to write content with search engines in mind,
- pick up some photoshop skills
- learn how to do powerpoint presentations on video and post them to youtube
- how to hire people to do writing, design, and coding work
- learn something about layout and design
- what software you can use to make different parts of the work flow faster and better
This is the basic kernel of how most people attempt to make money the Warrior Forum way.
You have to invest about 10 bucks for the domain, maybe a little less. You may be able to get free hosting, but probably not, about 60-80 bucks for a year.
You will spend a lot of time setting things up at first.
You will spend a lot more time writing and editing your own content, or editing someone else's content.
You will spend some time trying to get back links.
And then you may have to wait 2 weeks to 3 months to see if your site rises to the top 10 (really top 6) in the rankings. (this ties back to how competitive your keyword is)
As far as I can tell, a lot of people focus on trying to sell Clickbank e-books and video courses.
so you fight for your 100 visitors per day with an endless campaign of backlinking (white and black hat) and regular 'EPIC' content!
Only some of those 100 daily visitors are going to click your hoplink (a personalized link) to the Clickbank Salespage. . And when they get to the sales page, the sales page has to convert.
If you do everything right, you'll find highly motivated buyers every day. That's what the Warrior Forum says.
With Ad Sense sites, you get paid when your visitor clicks a side bar/banner ad. So some of the ad sense gurus will have 200-3,000 sites, with about 5-7 articles each. Each site might make 30 bucks a month, but multiply that by 200 sites, and that's a decent chunk of change.
With Amazon sites, you need a good amount of traffic and push through, and amazon does the converting. But if you're goal is say 1,000 a month, you need your visitors to go to amazon and spend 6,000, or about 200 bucks a day.
You may read about article writing. For newbs, that can range from 2.50 for 250 words, to 7 bucks for 700. With experience and training, you can bump it up to 10 bucks for 500 words, and if you're a legit writer (journalist or something) you can get paid some decent coin by hustling.
Most folks swear by their lists though. Developing your email list gives you a captive audience of people who want to hear from you, some of which may buy. (I know i've bought stuff from Banana Republic because of the emails they send me)
There are more advanced strategies, ones that make more money faster, but as soon as those strategies get out, they can get played out. That's why most of those IM sites have a paid membership area. The "secrets" are behind the paywall. (whether or not that's true, is a whole other topic)
An old strategy
- the exact match domain + scraped/stolen content and spun content + spammy links + adsense was golden for a few years. You could do most of that without using your brain at all. Just press some buttons and the machines did most of the work. Then Google updates their algorithm and EMD loses some power, spammy links lose a lot of power, and bad content kills your site.
That's pretty much what most of the warrior forum/black hat world says for IM it in a nut shell.
There is more to IM than that, but in terms of what most of the WSO's are, this is what they say. There may be a few tweaks here and there, but it boils down to just keyword research, competitor research, trying to get on page 1, and monetizing the traffic somehow.
