NFL Playoffs

Just watched my Packers lose to the Vikings. Looks like a rematch at Lambeau next week. The AFC is already set but as of now we are waiting for the winner of Dallas/Washington for the NFC. My prediction for the Super Bowl is Green Bay vs. Denver.

What's your predictions for the playoffs? It seems like almost anyone could take it this year.

The Broncos seem to have a relatively easy road to representing the AFC in the superbowl, just win two home games. Although in the NFC it really could end up being any of the teams besides the winner of the Redskins-Cowboys game that's about to start.

The Packers defense has to pull their collective heads out of the their asses if they are going to the SB.

New England have had a great stretch of games save SanFran. Their only comp is Houston and Denver. Houston has lost 2 games straight(MIN,IND), so I'm not going with them. Denver, aside from the goat Peyton are inexperienced, so I can't go with them.

NFC is a free-for-all, no team has really shown that they are far and away a favorite. So, I will ride the team with the most impactful player. Minnesota, Adrian Peterson is the biggest difference-maker in the league save Peyton.

So there are my picks, NE vs MIN.

Agreed. I'm basing it on wishful thinking. But hopefully the loss tonight puts a chip on their shoulder for next week. They are definitely better than last year, but they have to show it in the first half. That first quarter tonight was ridiculous.

Houston has definitely shit the bed in the final stretch. I doubt they will make it past first round. With Gronk's recovery I think New England could easily make another run, but I still think Peyton has the targets (Thomas, Decker, Stokley) to pull through. Minnesota's run defense is tough, but I don't think they can beat the Packers two times in a row.

No one ever takes the Seahawks seriously, but as they're from my home town, I always gotta root for them.

Im glad it was a close game today. It made them realize they wont be winning every game by 40 points. Dallas or Washington watch out!

Seahawks are rolling! Pete Carrol in my mind finally has got shit right. He is looking like the Phil Jackson of the NFL right now because you can tell he is taking a more philosophical approach to the game. He has those young guys thinking they are way better then they really are! They are going around lighting stuff up, talking mad shit, and hitting everybody in the mouth... its great!

I think the Seahwaks can make it out. GB vs MIN will be a deathmatch, whomever comes out of that game may be minced meat . The Falcons are a joke and will be one and done, the 49'ners if Seattle marches in they will roast them again.

Seattle deserves to be in the Superbowl.

Peyton vs Brady again in the AFC championship final? Please no Patriots in the Superbowl.

I hope Atlanta does well.

So irritated that the Packers lost to the Vikings, but it's my Bears fault for putting themselves in position for that to begin with. I think Lovie Smith is out on Monday.

Another year as a Raiders fan. Maybe I'll be able to contribute to this type of thread in five more years.

Charger fan and glad to see the coach gone. Let's hope we get a real coach this time, not an offensive co-ordinator like Turner.

I was praying for another extension for Smith and Turner. Turner is one hell of an OC, but a shitty head coach.

Seattle does look very good but it always seems like these high scoring offenses suffer in the post season. I'd like to see Denver do well. Don't know much about the Redskins but they are a great story. It would be interesting to see Shanahan and the Redskins go up against Denver in the Super Bowl but that's probably a long shot.

Seattle also has one of the best Defenses in the league and Marshawn Lynch finished second in rushing to AP.

People can't even talk about New England anymore because Seattle is blowing them out of the water. Seattle is putting up NE points but with a legitimate defense which is actually stopping things as Seattle's Defense has given up the fewest total points all year

Seattle is one of the best well rounded teams in football. Its just nobody is has seen much of them all year and does not talk about them, they quietly do their thing.

Tony Romo ripped by former Cowboys Deion Sanders, Michael Irvin

Quote:Quote:

The Dallas Cowboys had another mediocre season, losing to the Washington Redskins on Sunday night with a playoff berth on the line. Former Cowboys Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin, now analysts for the NFL Network, had some strong words for Tony Romo, whose tenure as the Cowboys' quarterback has been disappointing.

In his career, Romo is now 1-6 for the Cowboys with the playoffs on the line.

"[Cowboys owner] Jerry Jones said it earlier, if you're not in the playoffs, it's not a successful season," Irvin said. "I'm never going to say 8-8 is a success, not a guy who holds three rings. Playing hard is good. Winning is better. You watch all these guys, Robert Griffin III, Eli Manning, Michael Vick -- these are top quarterbacks, drafted in top spots, they know and feel like they belong in that situation. Tony Romo is the only undrafted QB in the East and sometimes, in those moments, he feels like, 'I have to prove to everybody I belong here,' and tries to do so much and that gets him into trouble."

Sanders was equally hard on Romo.

"How many times are we going to sit here as fans and say, 'Here we go again?' " Sanders said. "I love to win at all costs. 1-6 in elimination games, that's telling me something is not getting better around here. The kind of person I am, I need to jump off and try to correct this thing.... I can't put this one thing all on Tony. But Tony brings me to the same situation at the conclusion of every year. Take a picture, this date, and see if we're playing the same picture next year. We always think it's going to get better, but it's the same-old same-old."

Kosko, are you a seattle fan? Haha! They do look like a New England, scary good. Maybe it will come down to Seattle vs New England for the AFC Championship, that would be a killer game. I'd love to see Seattle go to the Super Bowl, it's a great town.

But none of it changes the fact that Romo showed up here Sunday night in the latest Biggest Game of His Life and threw three interceptions in the loss that ended the Cowboys' season.

"It does not feel good," Romo said. "I feel like I let our team down."

That's because he did. Break down the film and you'll see an offense that couldn't adjust to the Washington Redskins' surprising blitz packages and a defense that couldn't stop the run. But the story of Sunday's game is and always will be that Romo threw two interceptions in the first quarter that robbed the Cowboys of a chance to set the pace and one in the fourth that killed their chance to come back. After throwing 13 interceptions in his first seven games of the year, Romo threw only six in his final nine. But of those six, five game in the two losses to the Redskins, who won the division and sent the Cowboys home at 8-8.

How many chances are they gonna give this guy? He obviously doesn't play well when it matters most.

this...

people all of a sudden are on the seattle is a high scoring offense kick...all season long they were the team who kept games close and won with late drives, strong defense and great rushing attack. They weren't known for high scoring games until they put up a bunch on a couple of bad teams and then ran it up on SF...the team knows it's built to play smash mouth football. They bring it on d and run it down your throat on offense...they're just showing that with Wilson they can open it up now and that should scare every defense as they're no longer one dimensional. They're made to play on the road, they're made to play in tough weather and they can light it up in good conditions.. Anybody who thinks they're just a high scoring offense hasn't been watching them all season and just caught the highlights the last few...they're a well balanced team...last team I would want to face if I were anybody else.
