Reykjavik Iceland

Hey guys, I've just arrived in Iceland all the way from Australia. Is there anyone in Reykjavik or Akureyri here that wants hit some places up for the crazy weekends and more sedate daygame. I'll be here until christmas.

I have my own place near Laugevegur too [Image: banana.gif]

I might get there soon. Still looking in disbelief how expensive tickets are. It's not sitting easy with me to fly that far and pay so much just to get laid ( maybe). I have been there before and didn't get laid last time because I didn't drink.
Was it easy to get a guest house or an apartment?

Yea, really easy to find a place to stay during winter. I looked and looked and looked and eventually found a cheap (er!!) ticket which was $1200 from the states so I think thats the lowest you'll probably get, mind you I was flying from the midwest. From NY is like $800.

You know you can fly to Thailand for 1200 any other time of the year?...No effort lays there. I stayed in a hostel there last time - bad choice as you have no privacy. What did you get there, an apartment. Can you recommend a website? I think I fly to London and on the way back make a stopover in Iceland.

I booked my apartment on airbnb, it worked out perfect... great location. You can always find a guesthouse as Roosh recommends which is similar but smaller.

I can tell you that this is VERY different from Thailand! It is a matter of personal preference I guess. Any idea on when you will get here?

I've had a few members PM me about meeting up in Reykjavik around this time. VonAwesome looks like I will just miss you there. Let's see if we can get some meetups going, and pass along info about the current status of places. Let's all post the following:

1. Days you will be there
2. Where you are staying
3. How many others are you coming with
4. First time there?
5. Plans for NYE
6. Gaming style

I'll start:

1. Dec 26 - Jan 6
2. Near the main strip, forget exactly where
3. Myself and 2 other guys, all single and like minded
4. Yes
5. None yet, though invited to meet up with my host's friend who looks old so not leaning towards that
6. Night almost exclusively, some pipelining, I drink a good amount

Question: Which European cities can I fly from to Iceland for the cheapest flight? What airline do I need to go with and how far in advance do I need to book? I'm down for that trip but it would definitely require a reasonable degree of planning and I hate planning like that.

Can try this: http://www.skyscanner.com/flights-to/rey...javik.html

My ticket from LAX was $1100 with one stop each way. Should be a lot less I imagine from Europe. Try the cheapo ones too to see if they have flights there, thought not likely (ryan air, easyjet, etc.).

Skyscanner is a great site to find flights.

If you are flying from Europe - the cheapest is always from Copenhagen,Denmark. If you are from the USA - try Boston on Icelandair.

Post report when you are done guys! I was there many years ago and didn't get laid at all in two weeks. Maybe things are different now?

1. Here for just under 3 weeks altogether. Leaving on the 18th but considering dropping the $1500 on staying through New years.
2. Main St in the heart of it all Laugevegur.
3. Alone.
4. Yes.
5. Maybe, lets see how it works out.
6. My normal game style is day but this trip has been about 98% night game.

Stats so far:
Flags: 1 (Icelandic, came close to German).
Threesomes: 1 (not so great).
Parties held spontaneously: 1.
Notches: 2.
Luck factor for being in the right place at the right time: high.
Number of HELPFUL instawings: 2 Americans.
Number of times I almost got into fights: about 2 or 3.
Stories about all the crazy stuff that happened so far: countless.
Boredom rating for Sunday - Wednesday staying in the city: high (with exceptions).

I have very mixed feelings about Iceland so far.. In a way it's and amazing place with reasonable looking girls who are lots of fun and in another way the people are cold, shallow and boring. It's a funny contradiction in a country full of funny contradictions.

VonAwesome, nice stuff so far. Any tips on what bars/clubs to hit up and/or style to game if you found it different than bang iceland?

Best tips: Definitely tone down the cockiness, they don't know how to take it properly and are kind of crazy, I was punched (not too hard) in the face while in bed by a crazy naked lesbian who had never been talked to like that before. They are quite dominant and don't understand a lot of the humour and teasing we do back home. Like Roosh said, if you just want to get laid shut up and let them talk... even though you will hate listening to the shit they say since it will go against every moral fibre in your body, just nod.

Quite a few of the good bars and clubs mentioned in Bang Iceland have closed down (the book is quite outdated in terms of the clubs and bars it mentions). The most important of which was Bakkus where Roosh had the best time but has now disappeared, Boston is gone too. They come and go quickly here but I'll list the best ones which are around today below:

If you live closer to Laekjatorg (main square) the best place to pick up without any competition is Dolly - http://www.facebook.com/dollyreykjavik A two level dance/bar venue with younger drunk girls very easy but often in groups with cock blocking guys, highly recommended.

There are a bunch of other clubs/bars (such as Austur and the places across from it) around Laekjatorg on the main street (Austurstraeti) which are full of older women who will flat out proposition you... to me these were a waste of time unless you are looking for a no effort flag... I will leave that up to you.

If you live around Laugevegur which is closer to Hlemmur (Secondary square with the bus terminal) there are several good places. Firstly Prikid http://www.facebook.com/pages/Prikið-Kaf...ts&fref=ts which is the oldest bar in Iceland but also turns into a kind of dance club on the weekend. It was in this place where I was talking to a 7.5 and she was listening to me for maybe 4-5 minutes without giving any real ioi's like smiling or laughing but she stayed there and kept listening until she motioned to the bartended to come over to us, said something in Icelandic and he gave her a pen and a napkin and she then wrote down her number and name, presumably for a bang after the place closed and then walked away.

Another good club in this area ON WEEKDAYS is the massively overhyped Kaffibarrin. Social circle is king here and there will be days where there are lots of guys. Also you will see the same sluts over and over again all week long here without much turnover. That being said it is the only place that is kind of happening on weekdays. Don't waste time here on weekends http://www.facebook.com/kaffibarinn

Logistically make sure that you go to the ones close to where you are staying otherwise you are wasting time when it gets close to last call(this especially goes for saturday) so if you are staying near Laekjatorg, don't waste too much time at Kaffibarrin or if you are staying near Laugevegur, don't waste time at Austur.

Apparently there is another new airline leaving from London as well as the one's mentioned above.

Can't believe alot of those bars have closed.
