What colognes do you own?

Have tried 5ml sample bottles of:

Dior Sauvage
BVLGARI Man in Black
Mont Black Individuel

I only really like Dior Sauvage. The rest I wouldn't wear again.

Overall I think cologne is overrated. I've gone on 150+ dates, banged ~70 women, and half or more of them I was wearing cologne. A girl has never once mentioned it. One girl mentioned that "I smell good" but didn't mention the cologne directly (I was wearing Man in Black that time).

Probably better to wear than not, but I wouldn't invest in anything more than a $5 sample from eBay.

^What he said.
So long as you smell fresh, that's all that matters.
I get the same reaction whether it be Old Spice or Creed.

Someone asked above about best Tom Fords. You should definitely check the Private Blend line. There are 5 particularly outstanding fragrances in this line: Oud Wood, Tuscan Leather, Neroli Portofino, Tobacco Vanille, Noir de Noir.

I second Tobacco Vanille, the scent is unique as hell, little heavy, but makes it perfect for colder weather.

What's Tuscan Leather like? I've seen some pretty good reviews on it.

Which works best for you with women?

Colognes and clothes, past a certain point you are doing it for yourself rather than the girl. The point of diminishing return is very very low.

It could be fun though. After ya all praise this tom ford i went out and get 2 samples, one of noir and the other noir extreme. Couldn't tell which is better frankly so i cold approach some girls foe their opinion. They were pretty happy to do so and they all prefer the noir extreme.

I'd say Oud Wood and Tuscan leather. They're giving you very intense, luxurious aura. My go to is Oud Wood it smells like you'd own a hedge fund, I wear it for evening dates with quality girls. Tuscan leather is on a little more casual side.

Sure thing. It's fun though, just as you're saying, and helps me with setting the mood and the aura I want to emit - playfulness, openness, mysteriousness etc. Also it feels great to wear some luxurious niche scent like Roja with a good suit. It's an immediate confidence booster for me even on worse days.
To be fair, most of chicks won't perceive any in difference in quality past established designer fragrance houses. Unless it is something that will turn on their olfactory memory - I don't want to smell like someone's ex/co-worker, so I try to omit the most popular frags, including some that were mentioned heavily in this thread. Literally every guy on streets or in a club smells these days of one of the big five Dior Sauvage, Invictus, Paco Rabbane 1M, Versace Eros or Le Male. Summarizing: do it for yourself.

My girl really loves an old cheap fragrance Paco Rabanne Black XS, i also have gotten compliments on it in the nighttime - good for clubs. My go to is still Lalique white - it’s such a cheap fragrance but smells unique and quality.

Yea, Lalique white is one of my favorite after gym scent. Perfectly refreshing and lasting more than a cologne water.

Gentleman,

I highly recommend the following cologne. Now, it is quite expensive but I have NEVER received so many compliments. The first time I wore it, I stepped into a bar in Dublin and as I walked by two girls and they snapped their heads around so quickly trying to find out where this glorious scent was coming from. If you this is in your budget, you need to pick this up...

Maison always has great colognes, and to come by but worth it. They have one that's a vanilla and oud with a smoky sandalwood. Drives women crazy.

The problem with cheaper colognes (under $100) and niche or expensive colognes is. Cheaper colognes might smell amazing, (the one, la nuit L'homme, Suavage etc) but you can smell the difference in quality vs the niche fragrances (tom ford private blend, creed, Maison) The alcohol is more pronounce in cheaper fragrances whereas Tom ford fragrances have an oilier aroma, it's much smoother.

With that said, the best combo I've found for under $100 is the new Acqua Di Gio Absolu. This pairs well with a sandalwood soap.

Today I went to choose new parfum for my 100$ gift card. I really liked Armani Acqua di Gio Profumo and Dior Fahrenheit. Both are pretty expensive and could get only 40 ml. What do you recommend, going into one of these two (which?) or going for something cheaper, but similar.

I had Hugo Boss and Lacoste before, both were good, but Armani or Dior is just the best.

Acqua di Gio is the single most popular fragrance on the globe. Dior Fahrenheit a definition of masculinity. Choice should be obvious.

Fahrenheit is a classic, but you have to like that petroleum vibe. I think the eau de parfum version is available now which is rated well. ADG Profumo is more contemporary, and rated highly too. I'd say try both out and see what works better with your skin chemistry.
Or you could try Dior Sauvage or Spicebomb; both are safe bets and well liked in my opinion, especially by younger women.

Bleu de Chanel is my mainstay. Women like it.

Also have Bulgari - Man in Black.

Go online to Aventus and buy that fake stuff. If girls compliment you then go ahead and buy something nice.

For younger women 18-25 use Sauvage, Spicebomb, Versace Eros and (the best for younger women) Polo red, 1 million, and if you want something more expensive then Aventus Creed. La Nuit De L'homme was the all time best but it doesn't stay on you for more than 1 hour max.

For Older women 25-40 go for The One, Bleu de Chanel, Tom Ford Black Orchid, Fahrenheit, Acqua di Gio, Hugo Boss. For more expensive options go for Tom For Tuscan leather OR Tobacco Vanille, Or any Creed. Bond#9 is great but I can't seem to remember the best one.

The most compliments would be Aventus Creed and La Nuit De L'homme. HOWEVER, the best conversation-starting fragrance for me is hands down Creed Virgin Island waters. Either they tell me I smell tropical and relaxing, or they tell me I smell like a vacation. Girls love to cuddle with the Creed Virgin island waters. They'll rather cuddle than have sex so it's risky.

I'm big on fragrances and get complimented A LOT when i used to wear them. If you want a fragrance that just makes you feel like the man and gives you confidence then: Herod Pegasus, Creed green Irish tweed and Tom Ford Oud Leather are your best best.

Versace Eros is the safest bet or Nautica Voyage. Voyage is very cheap and gets A LOT of compliments but smells like Cucumbers to me so I hate it.

Thanks you for your advices.

Yesterday I was at smaller branch and they didn´t offer Chanel and Dior, so I liked Prefumo there and then I know Fahrenheit from my best friend.

Today I went to one with full offer. I was choosing between Fahrenheit, Prefumo, Sauvage and Bleu. Sauvage is maybe too much sweet for me, Perfumo is very common, si Bleu de Chanel won it. Fahrenheit is nice, but it just reminds me my friend so much and also it can be too strong for some people. Bleu seems universal, but still very masculline to me and I liked it.

Great choice with Bleu. I am guessing you may have tried the EDP of Sauvage instead of the EDT version.

ADG Profumo is the best all-rounder on the market. It isn't the most exciting, but it smells a lot better than average, it lasts for several hours and works in most situations. If I only wanted one go-to fragrance and didn't care enough about fragrances to have more than one, I would pick that. If I was starting my collection anew, I would start with that.

I have quite a large collection and there are a few others I would add to it if I had the spare funds.

Just discovered Acqua di Parma Leather. It smells literally like a high fashion handbag from inside. I talked the sales girl into giving me a sample, can't wait to test chicks reactions.

I also got Terre D’Hermes recently as a gift. It is very citrus like. Can’t comment yet on how women like it.

@tomzestatlu. Good choice with Bleu. I suggest a finders fee for all forum members who endorsed it. If you get laid with that fragrance, your girl’s friends should hook up with us.

On a more related note, I also have samples of Tom Ford Extreme Noir. This is a gouramde and they say - strong notes of vanilla I think. Also Tom Ford Leather Ombré. This is a unisex - not sure I like that idea. Just wanted to share a few of those.

Personally, what works best for me is earthy and wood notes.

Being from Southeast Asia where the climate is hot and humid almost all year around, gourmands and any of those heavy sweet scents run the risk of being too cloying so I stick to aquatics, citrus and earthy colognes.

For work I go with either Terre D'Hermes, YSL's L'homme or Dior's Sauvage to keep it safe.

Nights out and dates - Dior Homme Intense, Dior Homme Parfum or Creed Aventus.

Women just love Aventus and that always works well.

Ironically, the most compliment I got from women were for a cheapie - On El by J. Del Pozo. Creamy light aquatic although it doesn't last on my skin for too long.

What kind of reaction do you get from women when you wear Terre D’Hermes? I have not had occasion to use this for new notches.

I've gotten the 'I like your cologne, you smell nice' from a couple of female co-workers however the two compliments from Women that stuck to me were - mmmm you smell like a fresh garden, I love that! and another woman lkept leaning in to sniff my neck and said the scent reminded her of summer mornings.

Both women were in their late 20s.

IMO, this cologne works best in summer or in warmer temperature on a more casual scale.

You could pull this off better during the day or warm evenings.

Ok guys my 5 pence to the story.

Had a interesting experience - girl was complementing me and asking me about my amazing cologne - so many times that it was embarrassing.
Especially that I had deodorant - Lynx Black Night (went to her straight from my work for a bang).

I on this I am with Corsega "Overall I think cologne is overrated." Plus most of the girls have no clue about colognes...

I like good cologne for myself.
