In a nutshell it's like a Turkish city (but much smaller than Istanbul). People even speak Turkish mostly (plus old folks speak Russian).

Food is markedly worse than Turkey but people are less pushy and annoying.

Baku has great infrastructure and a beautiful (if small) old town. It's good quality and it is generally affordable.

Girls are tough to 'hook' into anything but a short conversation.

If you have been to Turkey and liked it - you'll like it in Baku too.
