I've started employing Master Roosh's keystone method for a lot of things. As you may recall, he started it by approaching one girl a day, irregardless of his mood. It carries into other areas of life too. I use it for writing, developing new products for my business, etc.
But what about fitness? I would like to drop some serious weight this summer and keep it off. Has anyone ever tried this method to stay fit?
What type of things could you daily do to lose weight and stay fit? Things which do not involve a gym and buying expensive weights.
I've been thinking a lot about this every since I ran into an old friend who had gastric bypass surgery. He lost a massive amount of weight and now looks buff and trim. Surely there has to be a better way to do this.

Losing weight is mainly about your diet although working out helps. Just change what you eat, look up the paleo diet or the site marksdailyapple. You can get buff as hell without weights by using calisthenics, just look at gymnasts. If you want to know how to start training calisthenics then you can just search it on this forum, there is a thread on it.
The Keystone method might come into fitness by working out everyday regardless of mood.

What you can do every day is three sets of pushups, pullups, dips, bodyweight squats, and handstands in a circuit, alternating presses and pulls with bodyweight squats and a very long durational handstand as a finisher. That will get you a good enough physique if you're lean.
When in doubt, increase volume by adding sets.
Most people overthink things and it just doesn't have to be that way. The guys at barstarzz get jacked out of their minds by playing around on playground equipment and monkey bars.

I'd have to say the best keystone habit for you would be routine.
You need to figure out what part of your routine is the biggest factor in making you unhealthy. Replace that with something healthy.
Maybe you get junk food cravings and eat out a few times a week. As soon as you get a cravinggo oout and do some exercise. Even if it's just a 20 minute walk.
Youll start feeling better because you aren't eating junk food, maybe you stress eat and realize exercise is a better stress relief. You'll look for more ways to improve and start learning more about exercise + nutrition etc

They say showing up is half the battle; I say with working out it just might be 90% of the battle.
Make a commitment to show up at the gym every single day, even if all you do is walk in, put on your gym clothes for a couple minutes, and leave. Don't force yourself to work out if you're not feeling it or this habit won't work. The idea is to not give yourself any pressure besides the pressure to go. Most of the time you will end up working out.
No gym membership? You can do the same thing by scheduling a morning "workout" in some convenient corner of your apartment but accept that sometimes a workout will be nothing more than a light stretch. If you get up every morning, throw on your workout clothes, and go to your little spot that you're supposed to workout, you will eventually develop the habit of making the most out of it.
I also used to do the same thing when living in a condo in Thailand that had a pool on-site. My only commitment to myself was that I had to walk down first thing in the morning and at least get in the water. The majority of the time I ended up swimming 50 - 100 lengths of the pool.
I think the habit of just showing up could very well have keystone potential in this case.

Think I'm going to try Post #6. Keystone method works best when you have to do something new, not take something away. Thanks for all the input.

I think a good breakfast - for me it's eggs and spinach - is a good way to start the day on a positive

I don't eat breakfast and never have. I envy people that tell me how much energy it gives them and how it helps start the day off right (my sister's always on about it), but if i eat breakfast I just end up super hungry by lunch and sluggish until I get to eat again. Plus it's a waste since I'm never hungry in the AM and i'm just forcing down wasted cals.
Plus one on this.
Glass of fresh juice in the AM. Then lunch at 12ish. Best way top get lean. Doesnt even feel like a struggle as you can pound calories in your two meals of the day.

Want something that's going to burn the fat off and get your core shredded? Invest in a KB (35 lbs for the average joe, 53 lbs if you have some degree of strength and athletic ability) and do at least 300 kettle bell swings a day.
