I have seen this and it doesn't look natural. Probably because people over-compensate with the hairline but also the shine is off. On a naturally shaved head, as soon as you have one day growth, the shine is slightly different where there are hair follicles. With tatted heads you get shine with dots on it. The brain pics up on the wrong-ness of it. It's like when you see chicks with eyebrow tatts. Looks wrong because the skin is smooth so you know it's fake and ghey.

So I'm told by people..

Week, maybe two weeks tops you will have the scabs and then the scabs flake off.. after the operation you will have shaved the rest of your hair ('Phil Mitchell' look) then you will just have a shaved head (grade 1 / grade 2) for 3 months until the peach fuzz grows and then you can grow it all out.

I'd never have it done, but out of curiosity... if guys are beyond the NW scale, what 'hope' is there for them. Because there really isn't enough hair on them to transplant.

they can use your body hair for transplanting lol. but if that isnt an option, you could get the hair fiber implants which would cost a fortune for a full head. They are Italian made I beleive

It’s worth it every penny. You will only look like a weirdo for the first few weeks. If you are on a budget like was, consider your HT in Turkey. Best investment in my life. You will get a lot of self-confidence in return.

Not really the best idea. Some people just can't sport a shaved head ie light skin people blonde / red hair. I have a buddy who shaves his head and he has deep eye sockets, so he looks like Deadpool and like he's been in chemotherapy for 10 years. The ultimate solution is a transplant.

I've never shaved my head, but I'm pretty well certain it wouldn't be a good look. I have a very large head, and I can feel ridges in my scalp that would look funny if it were shaved. My hairline has receded from a Norwood 2 to a mild Norwood 3 in recent years. I think TRT may have exacerbated this.

If it goes any farther, I would consider hair transplants. Either that or I'd just accept the Norwood 3 look. I don't expect to have a bald spot at the top back of my head, but I can see how the corners at the top of my forehead could keep going farther and farther back in the next 10-15 years.

I think if I start getting an extreme Norwood 3 look, I am very likely to get transplants.

I currently use Toppix in my peaks, and it improves things a fair bit and makes me feel better about it.

I was quoted 1,500 grafts from Dr Path in Thailand, which is around $6.5k AUD ($5K USD). He said the thinning patient (as opposed to the fully bald) is more difficult, and I will go through a period of shock loss (looking worse before it gets better).

Even though I'm only a Norwood II, many guys say they think it unnecessary, although I think I'll feel better for it. I imagine it'll shave another few years off my (already younger than average) look.

Just do it.

Get rid of your recession points, bring your hairline down and it will make you look younger and boost your confidence a ton.

5K is nothing, 6 months is nothing and if you're concerned about what your Thai dr is saying then get another one.

The main thing I'd be concerned about is the hairline continuing to recede behind the grafted hairline... not a good look, especially if you decide that you've had enough fucking about with transplants and drugs then decide to shave. Transplants will be obvious on a shaved head because as much as people think bald is bald, it isn't. There are noticeable details like follicles and texture especially between shaves!

Yes, I’ve seen this and it looks awful.

I’m hope a couple of things should avoid that. First, that I’m already 40, so I should have experienced most of my loss.

Second, if the Dr blends it back into my scalp more. And finally, I’ll have to get another HT if those fail. Maybe something will be better out in 10 years.

Norwood II just looks like an attractive man's hairline. It's really not worth the risk of messing up and wouldn't look bad or receding in anyone's head but your own I'd say.

Most hair loss happens before mid to late thirties, which is the perfect time to get a transplant. If you get it done before then when there will obviously be further hair loss then you need to spend the rest of your life on propecia, which comes with its obvious drawbacks.

No, I had was on low dose Propecia for years, then onto normal dose and experienced very bad sexual side effects.

I'm hoping with my small amount of loss I should be able to get away with one HT (peaks and blended half way back) and be done for life with no further meds. I understand it's a gamble.

Area 2 is where prospecia and to a lesser extent rogaine come into play
You hit the thinning area with meds and you either stop it from falling out or (if you’re lucky) you get some lost hair back over time

The scarring on both fue and fut are not good. Plus, even if you had one transplant then you will need another to cover the future hair loss. And you will get future hair loss as most people have reported a loss of efficacy with avo and finasteride with ten to fifteen years.

You basically commit to the hair transplant route forever and almost guarantee the need for a second (and you will pillage your donor area).


The only hope for these guys who do get a transplant and look good for ten years (which they do) is that there will be a perma cure for baldness by then.

My good friend had one done ~3 years ago - I think he was 28/29 at the time, but the hair loss made him look waaay older. He looks a million times better now.

Some it seems had unrealistic expectations (it typically takes 2 surgeries to achieve juvenile appearing density over a previously bald area). Some had a poor experience w/ their surgeon (including Erdogan). The surgery is expensive and there's enough info out there, that one only has themselves to blame if they did't know what to expect.

But that shit leaves scars in the back of your head. which means your forced to grow the back of your hair look if you keep the length at a number 2 for example, a clean cut... you will see lots of scars.i think the receeding hairline will look better at that point... do you have pictures of the back of your head where the scars were left?
There is no denying the results look real and are good..

what scares me are the scars in the back of the head where they remove your own hair... you never can have short hair again or the scars will be very visible... and look like you had brain surgery

I am 25 years old and my hairline was destroying what little confidence I had.

Well after some consideration, I went to India and got a transplant to fix my gay hairline. It has been 2 months since the surgery and I will post progress pictures in the future, as Im still in the ugly AF phase.

The cost was 30 rupees/graft and I ended up paying ~1100 CAD for 2000 grafts lol. Even with a flight ticket, you would be paying 1/3 to 1/4 of what you would pay in a Western country.

Dont @ me about "but my western quality" healthcare, there are levels to healthcare in a 3rd world country.

The clinic I went to was probably an 8/10 and only cause I would say a 10/10 is somewhere the Indian elites would go to.

The surgery itself was painless, except for when they were injecting the anesthesia and It lasted about 7 hours with a lunch break in the middle.

It just doens't look like he actually filled in any completely bald areas, all that changed is the density of his area that wasn't already bald, and a combover to hide some of the hairline
