Thanks for the answers gents. For now I will stick to my game plan of never raw dogging at home but only overseas and even there with the good girls. Risug sounds promising. Anyone knows when that would be available or if it's available anywhere and for how much? That would be indeed a good alternative.

"The big picture shows that if they get married and have kids, they probably won’t have any significant life of their own. Beyond childcare, domestic chores, and other family matters, most of their waking life will then be devoted to making money to support the family. Young men need to seriously consider “the snip” (vasectomy), which, according to these calculations, is more than 1000 times less expensive than getting married and having kids. Again that is not a typo.
. . .
This article was born out of my concern for the welfare of several heterosexual twenty-something men that I know, men who are surprisingly cavalier and relaxed about marriage and kids. Many of these guys accept these major life choices simply as part of being a man, and they expect one or both of the choices will be something they will do at some point in the future. The problem is that these guys, for the most part, don’t seriously investigate what’s involved, and that means that there will be big-time trouble later on. Marriage and children in America today are entirely different than they were just fifty years ago; they are now dangerously rigged games stacked against men. This stacked deck exists on many levels, but to keep this article relatively brief, I will focus only on the financial implications of marriage and children."

The article continues from here but focuses purely on the financial realities average men experience for raising kids/family life arguing just how economical a vasectomy/staying single without dependents is for men.

Had mine done about 8 years ago now and i can definitely say its the greatest thing i have done!

Have to be sure it is what you want done. I have no regrets.

Low Cost - No Cost - No Knife vasectomies available in Florida, got mine practically free while I was unemployed and living in Pinellas Co five years ago. I don't have kids but the counselors didn't make a big deal of it, the actual operation took about 10 minutes total, fairly painless. Local anesthetic so I sat up and watched Dr Stein punch my scrotal skin with a pneumatic tool, pull the vas tube out and attach titanium clips to each end before putting it all back inside. They sent me home with a goodie bag containing the sample mailer (to check in 3 weeks), white boxers with printed with purple grapes that said "Seedless", and an ink pen with the same slogan.

I don't know if its a good idea to do this unless you know 100% you don't want your own kids since sperm banks have screwed up before - see the white British couple with the black daughter. How many white donors did they mix up before that one? What if IRT knows he's getting laid off so donates his own to the collection?

She says: "blah blah, I'm not putting artificial synthetic hormones into my body"...

Here’s the issue – whether you’re in a long term relationship, or just rooting around randomly, it seems these days that you can’t rely on chicks to manage “not having babies”.

For whatever reason, this little responsibility has become just *to hard* for them to handle.

It’s odd, because as I understand it, women in the 70s 80s and 90s felt empowered by being able to manage their own fertility. They became empowered, being able to bang as they pleased, whilst not getting pregnant. A situation that allowed growing promiscuity, and the ability to hold on to their menial cubical based clerical jobs, without leaving to become mothers.

The pill == female empowerment.

Today, the situation of women staying off the pill, on purpose, is for reasons I have heard largely based on the same non-science, used my morons who fear vaccination. “I don’t want to put those artificial hormones into my body” she says – before she has raw dog sex with you, relying on you, some guy, to pull out at the critical moment.

I’m unsure that I have to point out the skewed risk reward basis here.

Nor make statements about the pill being used for 50 years ... on a broad heard population ... without any complications.

It’s a mad mad world.

Anyhoo, the solution appears to be the good old vasectomy, which essentially frees a guy from any ongoing responsibility. She can have all her little reasons for non-contraception, and you can nod along, and even compliment her on her smart choice of attacking the big pharmaceutical companies, by not buying their artificial hormones. “What a smart choice” you can say, whilst enjoying the irony that she will probably eventually get pregnant to an outlaw biker, or band member, essentially an “awwsome guy” who makes her very wet .. but whom has meagre job prospects, small earning capacity, and little inclination to support her, or a small child.

Such are the life choices of a modern empowered woman.

But enough about “her”.

Today’s vasectomy, and the increasing success of vasectomy reversals could be one of the more, or one of the only empowering developments for men in recent times.

Whilst we have given away so much ground to women and minority groups in recent decades, this old-school method of contraception appears to make sense for the modern man who aims to reduce is apparent obligations to the world, and to increase his freedom.

She can make her misguided fertility decisions, and, they have no financial or moral effect on him.

Thought I'd post here to see what anyone thinks...

My situation:

I'm 19 and really heavily business focused. If I had a kid it would definitely screw up my entire life. At this point in my life I can imagine myself wanting to have a child around 35 or so if I found the right woman. Then again maybe not. I'm okay with adopting as there's lots of kids out there with really shitty parents that deserve a good family... and I'd be fine with foregoing the blood-connection in the view of opening my arms to adopt.

I know it's a very drastic decision at my age, but there's absolutely no way I could have a child in the next 10-12 years. I want to be able to "semi-retire" at least to be able to spend full time with them in the first few years of it's life (and from there on too). I'd be able to do that around 35 I'm sure.

So my question...

At 19, with the advent of protection against unplanned pregnancy and open mindedness to adoption.. would this be something that anyone could endorse? I just think the pros outweigh the cons. The time investment that comes with having a child, not even taking into consideration money, would seriously put a strain on the future.

I think the fact that I'm posting this comment might indicate that I'd regret it in the future, but I just think for someone like me it would be the best decision... There's no way that I want to end up like a single person around me that has kids. Especially not like my own mother. I've seen first hand the financial strain it put on her. She's worked her ass off for a long time, was pretty much always broke, not entirely happy.

Vasectomy yay or nay?

***Edit

My brother and his girlfriend are in the hospital about to deliver twins... That's why this is on my mind. He's 27 and the pregnancy was an accident...

@travelling soldier
The best candidates for a vasectomy are guys who don’t want kids and have felt that way for many years or fathers who have had all the kids they want to have. If you want to be a father one day and you get a vasectomy you would have to go through artificial insemination with the sperm you banked prior to getting the snip. If you research all the potential complications or issues that may be involved in artificial insemination would you still is comfortable relying on it as your only method of having a kid? Be honest with yourself if you are ready to make such a permanent reproductive decision at 19 because you are likely to grow and think differently in the next couple years.

For any guys on trt or using hormones, look into adding a small amount of trestolone decanoate. It's an anabolic steroid that was originally designed to be a male contraceptive and was never approved for whatever reason. I wouldn't rely on it exclusively but it could add some piece of mind

Regarding the actual vasectomy procedure, there are surprising number of clinics that still do it the "scalpel" way which is surprising to me since it seems obsolete. Everything I have read regarding no-scalpel surgeries is that they are less invasive, less painful, and allow for a speedier recovery.

I am getting this procedure done without insurance coverage. I was also surprised to find that the cost to get it done in the USA (about $800) was less than it would cost at Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok (they wanted $1000).

Scalpel or no-scalpel job? How long until you were 100% recovered?

As a recent recipient of a scalpel-less V, it's the bomb. With plates that are not on BC, and while i have decades of pull out experience with no (known) mishaps it was risky business. Now its so convenient its silly.

Took me about 90 days to be fully recovered, all pain and/or slight discomfort gone. There was some bruising on one side. Use Arnica gel or cream it clears the bruising quickly. Absolutely no complications. Girls say that things taste much better without the missing fraction (about .5mL for the record). If you have a good surgeon you may even be able to get this past some women without them even knowing.

Depending on your recovery ability you can turn around quickly. I was active same day - a real no-no.

I'm not sure why I recovered so much faster than everyone else. I was jerking off the next day after my surgery and hit the clubs one week later. There was very minor swelling but it wasn't noticeable. They told me I wouldn't be clear until I had 20 orgasms. I hit that in about 4 days or so.

Cost me 800. No insurance. Took about 10 minutes. No anesthesic other than lidocaine cream

Yes non scapel vasectomy uses new technology and is a change to the medical procedure. I assume some older doctors might not have been trained with it so they just offer a traditional vasectomy since that is all they know. Since your operating on your balls go with the safest option which is a non scapel.

Wanted to make sure that the the full recovery I mention in my post means that there is no evidence whatsoever, either external visible or physiological. I was banging like a champ 2 days later. Still there was bruising on one side and some very slight tinges of sensation in my nut sack after particularly vigorous sessions.

This should not be a reason not to get one. I'm done procreating having fathered already. I will definitely push my son to vasagel when it becomes available just at about the time my son is fully active.

Had a vasectomy three years ago. Already a father, so no issues there, but definitely don't want any more kids (that time in my life is long past). Did the older-style scalpel surgery with local anesthetic. No big deal, ached a bit that day so I put frozen peas on my balls and drank heavily. Didn't bother with whatever prescription narcotics the doc prescribed. Went to a party the next afternoon, though admittedly I mostly sat around and had my girl bring me drinks. Felt 100% in less than a week with zero side effects since.

A vasectomy won't prevent you from having your own children.

they can still get sperm directly from your testicles via aspiration or needle and then IVF in your bitch, and that's assuming a vasectomy reversal fails.

So it seems win-win from my point of view. unless you plan on having children soon I think a vasectomy is a no-brainer positive decision.

You sure about this? Why aren't more guys getting vasectomy if we can just pull sperm out of our balls via needle?

because it's very expensive. the aspiration itself costs about 3k, then the IVF costs about 12k - and that's assuming it works the first time.

A vasectomy reversal costs about 15k.

so lets say you get a vasectomy then decide you want kids. you spend 15k to see if a reversal works. if it doesn't, you shell out close to 20k on aspiration and IVF in a lab, then the embryo is planted in your woman to grow.

so yes, expensive and annoying but nonetheless are real options. Basically you're paying a rawdog convenience surcharge the way I look at it. But I still bet vasectomy reversal and /or aspiration IVF are cheaper than child support.

I'm 28 heavily leaning towards getting a vasectomy, I have anxiety and can't enjoy sex much because I know the awful reality of an accident.

The bright side of all of this is that with IVF and aspiration, you'll definitely be sure that you want to be a father if you pony up all the money and deal with the medical hassle of getting your girl pregnant. That would be one mighty letdown to get all revved up about being a dad, part with all that money, and then have the procedure fail. After looking at the advancedfertilty link, I was disappointed that with today's technology that a lab setting couldn't come closer to the success rate of "the old-fashioned way".

Disco, what has you on the fence? Think you might change your mind someday and have big regret?

I am considering a vasectomy too. The only thing holding me back now is that regret I'll feel when I am 80-something years old in a nursing home and have no visitors, nobody to give a fcuk about me, and it'd be THEN that I'd feel the regret. I'd die lonely with only memories of some raw-dogging adventures as my only consolation. Are these fears unfounded? Seriously though, how do you guys reconcile the fear of dying lonely?

I'm neutral on the issue of fatherhood....I don't have strong feelings either way.

for me this is more of an issue of if I ever really wanted to marry 'a special girl' and produce children with her. These past few years in the USA I've become so disgusted with women I can't even picture myself getting married anymore. Hence a vasectomy is prudent for me. The ONLY reason to not get a vasectomy is if I had a serious girl in mind for marriage, which I don't even see that as a remote possibility right now.

and I can't even enjoy sex with a condom, it's a big letdown. I'm paranoid about rawdogging so vasectomy is the only answer to my problems.

with the IVF data, the biggest factor is the age of the woman, so I think it's worth the expensive risk worst case scenario.

For the record, I've had a vasectomy (shortly after the birth of my second son) and have never regretted it. Happy to answer questions if there are any.
