I can't find shit right now that is in my size or looks good. Frustrating. Manufacturers are changing style and are tapped out due to Christmas sales. Dammit.
Here's a couple of interesting ones though:

Hey Ali, you mentioned the Oakley 8" tactical boots, I peeped a few online and am interested. Looks like a great boot. Found some for sale on Amazon and one reviewer noted that the non-military versions are made overseas, while the military version is made in the USA. Dude said the ones made overseas don't last long. So I guess I'm gonna scout some mil-surp stores.
How do you rate the Oakley tacticals for durability?[/quote]

Oakley boots=10/10. Anything else is weesh. Hell, I invented weesh. Oakleys have the best ankle support, and I've been through just about every high end brand out there. They breathe well and last forever. You can run in them without getting shin splints. Great traction on the treads. Buy the issued ones. They are expensive, but for me just the ankle support alone is worth it.

After an exhaustive search I've settled on these:
http://www.thefryecompany.com/mens-boots...th-harness
They have a low profile heel, unlike the original harness. Those were murder on my ankles and knees. Once I can find my size and get them in, I'll pair up jeans to match. Going for this look:
A little vanilla from what I was after, but it'll do for now.

Interesting boot. Suede is not what one expects on such a boot (which is good).
Whats the upkeep like? Post your thoughts on here after you have had them for a bit I would like to see how they break in.

In less than hour I can tell you they are no where near as still as the original. Much easier on the feet. Plus they have strap rings on both sides of the boot, so I can get creative, like clipping chains to go around the back of the heels....if I want to dress them up.
Right now they are going through rigorous testing. Today I'm conducting the "Lay on the couch with the dog while wearing jeans, boots, and tshirt, drinking a beer". This test could take some time. I'll report back.
